Le cellier lunch

So they announced today that they are getting rid of the lunch menu at Le Cellier and going to having the dinner menu served at both meals and both meals being worth 2 credits now. Figured this has alot of people in an uproar... Just wondering what everyone here thought of it

We liked Le Cellier when we went last - a few years ago when it was still just 1 credit for dinner. We thought it was a great deal.

But when they first announced the 2-credit dinner change, we did not think it was worth it. And that they are doing that for lunch now (with the dinner menu) means I doubt we'll go back for either.

I think a lot of people were using lunch as a loop hole to eat there. Its a shame I like this place. I will probably take my father for father daughter dinner before my wedding though and pay out of pocket.

We've been to eat for lunch twice because I did not want to waste 2 table credits on it. I honestly don't think it's the best steak I've ever had. I did not get the wow factor. We thought Bistro De Paris was a lot better. We used 2 credits on that restaurant last year and it was worth it.

I thought it was really good about 10 years ago. And then everyone found out about it and it got crazy popular. Then it went down in quality. Now it's just totally overrated. So I don't care what they do at this point. I go have a few at Cava and then a Turkey Leg cart is like a Michelin starred restaurant.

It is one of my husband's favorites but I think we may skip it some trips with the new changes. We have TIW but went for lunch because it wasn't as expensive as supper. Some trips we even went twice but I don't see that ever happen again.

We liked having the fixed price 3 course lunch there- and all the menus online show that they took that away. I contacted Disney & said that I was upset about this in early January & a CM emailed me back saying that they DO have the lunch. I guess we will have to mosey by there before too long & check on that.
Has anyone else seen the menu in person at Le Cellier recently?

Brown Derby has had 2 TS "all day" menu since 2009. Difference with Le Cellier is that they chose to first transition dinner to 2 TS, before going to the 2 TS "all day" menu. The fact that all of the TS restaurants at the Studios have gone to "all day" menus(except for perhaps H&V), would suggest it is just a matter of time before the other park restaurants do the same.

IMHO, the change to "all day" menus is driven by the dining plan. Dinner is chosen over lunch to get best bang for the buck. By going to same menu all day, should more evenly distribute demand for lunch vs. dinner in the parks. Also, Disney consolidates their food purchases, and the CMs only have to learn one menu.

We stopped going to Le Cellier for dinner years ago, and always ordered the burger for lunch, which is no longer available. No need to return.

We had lunch there in November and at that time there were still burgers on the menu. While I really do like their steak it is a bit to salty for me. I will admit those menus are just interesting enough to get me to want to go back. I will also add that I am not a fan of restaurants changing to one menu for the whole day. I do not want dinner at lunch time.

We went once for dinner, were seated 30 minutes late, and were squeezed into a table for two way too close to the tables beside us. I was quite shocked about the condition of the restaurant. For all the hype we felt it seemed dirty and dingy ( yes I get the wine cellar atmoshpere however the carpet was dirty and around where we were sitting it was dusty). Our server was quite annoying (I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but i find the signature restaurant wait staff all seem to be trying too hard and it gets to the point that you want them to go away)She kept saying how all Canadians love poutine and being Canadian it was a bit much. Anyways our meal was ok and I did like the bread...ok I loved the bread (my favourite part of the meal). We didn't feel that the meal was worth the 2 dining credits and personally we have had better dining at a regular table service restaurant so we have never gone back
