I love this post from the Disney Tourist Blog about how love bug season has begun.
I've only been once when they were in flight and it was so gross. I'm not excited to be running into them again this year.

The struggle is real!!! Haha. I had never even heard of these love bugs until we moved here last year. It is something else. Swarms of them everywhere!
It's not uncommon to have to wash the front of your car several times a week. And while completely harmless they are annoying as hell just in shear numbers of them.
Ugh, I did not realize they were a thing. They sound like florida's version of shad flies 
Shad flies are bugs we get here that are harmless but come in swarms for a few weeks in July. They also stink when they get wet and many businesses spray off their buildings. So gross.
We have Love Bugs right now too but nothing like down there. I was sitting outside earlier and had a fornicating couple land on my arm.... Ahhhh love.....

I wish it was about Herbie!! Pictures don't do justice to the swarminess of these things...just a sample from the side of our house. And about 20 landed on me while taking these pictures. Ha!
So gross. I've only been there once during this, but I was catching a bus from the Yacht Club and the white benches at the bus stop looked like they had zebra stripes there were so many of these icky little buggers.

Hahaha yeah they are disgusting! They smell really bad when they get wet too so my poor dad has to get out the shop vac and suck them up every morning at work instead of hosing them down.
This is day 2 for us and yes, they are around, but they haven't been as bad as I was expecting. Fingers crossed it stays that way. 
I was there in May a couple of years ago. I don't remember seeing them. Must not have been a bad year.
Last week was not real bad with the Love Bugs at Disney. You knew they were there but thats it.

They didn't seem that bad today even when we ran the cars at the speedway.
There's been a marked decrease in love bug activity at our house so maybe the worse is past.
We've hardly seen any 
There wasn't a lot out today at DS.
