Magical Express Workaround?

Forgive me if this has been discussed before, I searched and didn't see anything about it.

As I understand it, if you're staying at the Swan or Dolphin hotels, you can't take the Magical Express bus because technically, those aren't Disney resorts. Correct?

Has anyone found a workaround for this, such as booking your first and last nights at a Disney resort, and then transferring to the Swolphin in between? Would that allow you to take the Magical Express both ways, even if you were only staying 1 night on either end at a Disney resort? Or would they frown upon that?

I'm sure that work around would work, does disney move your luggage for you to Swan and dolphin as it would other disney resorts?

Also, I'd verify that ME doesn't stop at s&d as disney transportation does internally.

I'm pretty sure that would work SF, but I think you can probably get transit to and from the airport for the less than the price difference. I think you're correct though that DME doesn't work for S&D. Have you booked a trip?

I would just take a cab..it seems like a lot less trouble than switching resorts mid trip..unless that is something you truly want to do.

Thanks, everyone. No, I haven't booked a trip yet, but am hoping to attend Food & Wine Festival in early November. I actually won a sweepstakes last fall that gave me 4 nights at a Starwood resort sometime this year, and I'm hoping to use those 4 nights at the Swolphin. But, given how much those resorts cost, not sure I want to stay more than those 4 nights there, so staying at a cheaper resort for 1st and last nights would also work for me from a cost factor. Right now, I'm just examining all my options....convenience may indeed win out over cost. (It often does.) We'll see.

Ohh ok well that makes sense then! Lucky duck to win four nights at a Starwood!

The Swoplhin is really nice..and oh those heavenly beds..well they look heavenly.

A tidbit about the Swolphin that drives me nuts..they give great teacher discounts..I think sometimes they are as low as $99 a night.....but they are during the school year.
Head...desk.

Does anyone know what the rooms are like in the Swolphin? I always consider going there, but never pull the trigger.

The fact that the Swolphin is a Starwood hotel makes me wish my business travel earned me points there.

Prior to ME, we always used FL Tours for transportation. Around $120 RT plus tip in a towncar. Love the Swolphin hotels for access to Boardwalk and Epcot, and they have better restaurants than the Disney resorts. Have fun @ F&W!!
