Memory Maker

Has anyone used this service yet? It's $149 if purchased in advance. Apparently you get to download the pictures as many times as you want, including dining and ride pictures. I'm on the fence...Sounds like a good idea mostly because I have never gotten a ride photo and Photopass usually takes pretty good pictures....

It's replaced photopass+. So in theory, it should have the same benefits of the photopass+ but instead of a cd, you get instant downloads. I haven't bought it so don't know how it's working out.

General PSA-If you have purchased photopass+ and haven't redeemed it yet, still use photopass+ instead of trying to change it to memorymaker. Not worth the hassle from what I've been told.

Well we have bought photopass+ before and have been happy with it, so I can't see this not being good.

We had the photo pass+ and I loved it! I will say that I would have preferred to be able to download directly instead of having to wait on the disk. So I think it will be great.

Most comments I've read regarding this on posts on facebook have been very negative mostly because of getting rid of the disc and it being the same price as photopass+.

Hmm yes the disc would be nice but I suppose I could just put the downloaded pictures onto one myself...

the last few years the ride pictures have been digital download. I would prefer you still got the disc also, it was nice to be able to get both.

We are considering buying Memory Maker but I couldn't find any recent threads on it so I figured I'd revive this one.

Has anyone bought this recently? What did you think of it?

We got it for our trip. I can't wait to see how it goes since it will be just the two of us I thought it was a great idea. I know the CM's will use our camera but I like to have the option of their pics too.... I will be hunting them down and stopping at every single one I see!!!! Will let you know in a couple weeks what I thought about it!

We're getting it for our December 2015 trip so I would love recent feedback, too!

We used it on our May 2014 trip, and I was really pleased with it. Anyone on my "Family and Friends" list was able to use the service, and thier pictures would appear in my Memory Maker account.

Also, all ride pictures were included in Memory Maker. We would stop by the photo counter, identify our pictures, swipe the Magic Band, and were on our way.

Since this was the first time we made use of any of the Photopass-type products, I can't compare Memory Maker to previous versions, but I think the cost and convenience made this a good deal.

We used it on our last vacation and we aren't the easiest in front of the camera nor are we very comfortable and originally we did it for the ride photos but we LOVED it everything about it esp the ride videos on 7DMT and TOT everything linked automatically and the scanned our bands we wended up with 190 photos and i didnt even think we tried that hard!!!

would highly recommend it!!!

We are so excited to try it. With this being the kids first trip I'm guessing it's a no brainer. And did I read anyone one under family will be able to use it?

I'm really looking forward to memory maker. It is sounds like such a great way to get pictures of both my wife and I without having to bug strangers to take our picture. Ride photos/videos and magic shots are a bonus!

I believe you can purchase it at any time. However, there is a 3 day waiting period. That is, any pictures taken within 3 days of purchase will not be included in your account and must be purchased separately. So purchase it at least 3 days before your arrival date.

Edited to clarify:

If you purchase Memory Maker in advance at the discounted price, there is a 3 day waiting period. If you purchase it at full price, all pictures are included.

I love it. It captures your ride photos right to your magic bands so you don't even have to stop. We purchase this every time we go. I have really been able to get some great candid moments with the characters too.

We bought this for our honeymoon. I liked that we got all of the ride photos and the fact that it was automatically linked to our Magic Band without having to stop at the desk was pretty incredible. I'm not quite sure how they knew which photo was ours to link up...but we got all of them so I guess they know what they are doing. We got quite a few photos around WS during F&W which was nice.

How did they link up to your memory maker account? Did they just scan their magic bands? Still looking into buying this for the December trip.

when we used it the photopass photographers scan your band after the photos were taken all ride photos/videos were automatically added we didn't scan our bands at any rides to get the pictures - hope this helps!
