Mickey ears....

I was wondering if the Mickey ears hats are all the same, or are they different depending where you are in the park? I of course need a pair, but am wondering if I need to wonder around to see them all first before buying.

There are some that I believe are park specific. It would depend on what you are looking for. Below is the link to the Ear Hats on the Disney store website that are Disney Park Authentic to give you an idea of what is available.

Do look around a bit - you very well might find some different ones at different locations and/or parks. Of course, you can never have too many pairs so if you see ones you like, get em all! (We take our role as enablers very seriously, FYI)

If you find a pair you like on the Disney store website, you can buy them ahead of time and wear them on the trip down.

Hi -

I have found that some of the ears can only be bought in certain parks and in certain stores. For example, I saw a really cute pair of leopard print ears at a store in the Agrabah Bazaar in Adverntureland that was ONLY sold there. Last year I found a couple of cute pairs at Animal Kingdom that I didn't see at any other parks. So my advice is: if you find a pair you must have, don't assume that you'll see them again!! Buy them!! mickey

I agree....I'm really bad about finding something I want and then waiting to buy it and going back and it not being there anymore

I know our family each has a different hat. I personally has a Pirates hat, and while I have seen them a bit in Magic Kingdom... its really only seen in the Pirates area... like I said... you could probably find it elsewhere... but hats like that, and Tower of Terror and such are usually dedicated to that ride or area.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I thought I would be getting one pair, but it is sounding like I may want multiples! If I see a pair I like I will get it and not wait, since I am not sure if I will go back to areas or not.

All ear hats are not created equal! My daughter went on a wild hunt in search of this pair, every store kept sending her some place else, it was a riot! Okay... maybe not so much for her. I think buying more than one pair might be the best way to go!

They usually carry most of them at World of Disney at DTD. Another option: there is a store in DTD called World of Memories and they have a thing where you can build your own ears. They have bases, ears, and patches, so you can make some completely unique ones!

I suggest getting the classic Mickey ears on the first day of your trip so you can immediately start wearing them and then look for another set you like! laugh

Try World of Disney at DTD. They usually have all of them, or they can direct you to a place that does.

I'm glad you posted this, I started thinking we only had the classic ears....went through my son's room and found that we all have the classic black ears, I have a pair of Minnie ears and a pair of wedding ears and my husband has the Sorcerer's Mickey hat and the Groom ears! Why did I forget those? laugh

I love my Minnie Ears! We found them on a cart in Fantasyland! Everyone would ask where to get them. The Minnie with the flower is my favorite, all of my Minnie merchandise, well at least 95% of it is that Minnie!

Thanks for the info. I can make my own ears!! How exciting.

Great pictures, y'all! I would be remiss if I didn't mention monogramming though. I love the classics with the name stitched on the back...everyone should have at least one pair like that!

Where do they still do that? I believe they still monogram at DTD and Main Street, but anyone else know off the top of your head?

As for family ears, my little boy has his "first haircut" pair, and my daughter has a pair of pink ones with her name from her first trip. I recently realized that my first pair (purchased when I was 17) seem to be missing eek Might be time for a new set for me, too.

They do the monogramming at World of Memories in DTD, on Main Street in MK (on the right as you come in, behind the Confectionery.) and in HS on Hollywood Blvd. (its the second to last store on the right after you enter the park.) I've heard you can get them personalized somewhere at Epcot, maybe Mouse Gears? but I'm not sure... Nowhere in AK as far as I know.

Thanks for the info, Jessi! I'll try and remember to scope out the other spots the next time we're in the parks.
