New Disney park ideas...

I swear I saw a thread about what we all thought the next park would be and how it has been so long since the last park (AK) was opened. But... I looked and couldn't find it, so please forgive me if this is a repeat (Maybe I read it on another site somewhere?!?!)

I was reading up on the new fantasy land expansion today and found this article:

http://themeparks.about.com/od/disneyparks/a/MKFantasylandExp.htm

Made me wish they would open a new park completly, where each "section" was a different classic disney movie. Kinda like the new WWOHP. I would love to wonder the worlds of my favorite disney characters and pretend like I'm actually a part of the story!! (I wish the new fantasyland was going to be open when we go in march..bummer!)

Thoughts??? or what kind of park would you love to see Disney open next?

I don't know if this is the one you were talking about? But we discussed a bit in there... but I think were definitely due for this topic to be resurrected. So it can be used as reference.

I would like to see a Villains theme park still. I think that would be just too cool.

Oh my gosh, I don't know if I could handle another complete park opening! I rarely get to AK and HS as it is. I think I would rather see WDW revitalize Hollywood Studios with some new attractions and perhaps a new themed land.

Ya know, I find SO much to do in the parks as they are, I'm not sure I need a new one Smile But then, I like to do my favorite things over and over. When someone pushes me to do something new, I'm usually delighted.

I'm with Kristen - some love over at DHS, maybe like Emma Anne says - new lands that totally immerse you in movies. But what would your picks be? Or maybe it could be organized by decade or genre if one movie or movies weren't deemed universal enough to make a whole land.

Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Cinderella, Snow White... those movies to me are classic... movies like Monsters Inc, Lilo and Stich, etc. just seem like a different "Disney" to me...

But I do love the thought of doing it by genre' or time period.... a disney through the years kind of thing...

Not sure about a new park but I'd like to see some new rides. I'd love to have the "Silly Symphony Swings" that will be done at California Adventure in MK. They'd fit in great with the new "Storybook Circus" section. A thrill ride would be awesome in Adventureland. A new attraction, not necessarily a "thrill ride" in Liberty Square.

HS could definately need some new attractions. We were not impressed when we went there. Loved "Toy Story Mania" and "Star Tours" but the park as a whole didn't knock our socks off like AK, MK, and EPCOT do. For our family it's not a park that's a "Must Do".

A "Monster's Inc" roller coaster would be awesome in Pixar Place. Some of the rides at Hong Kong and Paris' DL in Toy Story Land would be great there too:

Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop
RC Racer
Slinky Dog Zig Zag Spin

Ill throw this out for all who are on the fence with a new park. Why am I excited about the new Avatar area? Because everyone is going to go there and not the other parks! Its going to alleviate some pain in the parks and let them breathe! So they can create a new park that has to do with Chess for all I care... as long as people go visit it and that creates less crowds... I'm down! wink

awesome I concur! I love MGM but it could use just a bit more..there is so much more Pixar stuff they could do there. I assume a Cars Land similar to the one opening soon in DL won't be too far behind if its successful..or something LIKE that.

They could also do a Burton Ville here as well which would get me to go. The Nightmare Before Christmas is a HUGE enterprise for Disney and they could certainly capitolize on a section of the park dedicated to the quirkyness of Burton. It would bring in a lot of new people as well.

I would like to see cars land come to Disney World. Then Disneyland Hong Kong just opened up a toy story land and that looks pretty awesome too. I saw it on Disney Parks Blog.
