Soooo, say I buy 160 points at Vero next year (January) - I can use those points right away for a vacation (not sure what I'd get for a measly 160 points but for argument's sake...staying at vero or any other DVC resort?) Then, in 2011 I buy more points at Sarasota. Because Vero and Sarasota are my 'home' resorts, I can book those up to 11 months in advance but if I want to stay at boardwalk, I must wait until 7 months prior to book?

You got it, and see? Your head DIDN'T explode!

LOL - just barely!

Hi, All! DH and I just took the plunge and we are absolutely thrilled! yay We are financing thru our credit union for slightly lower rate. For us, it will be much cheaper than our usual yearly trip to POFQ and we will have nicer accommodations (tho' we love FQ). You can also pay it monthly instead of all at once and you don't have to worry about black out dates for the "specials". So now I can make the most of my school holidays instead of "oh, the special price is blacked out over Presidents' Day weekend".

There was an incentive of $30 Disney gift card just for going to the presentation. If we bought and knew a member's full name, the member got $200 and we got.....a FREE 3 night cruise! Sorry, gang, I used the name of a friend at work.....but I think I will buy her lunch, anyway!

Specifics: we bought BLT for 160 points, 17,800-something. We will likely add points in future, maybe after we pay off the loan (4 years). Disney will finance at a similar rate for 10 years, but of course you are paying for more interest over more time.

UL, good luck with your decision. (Same as MT, I read a lot online and talk to lots of people and I have never heard anyone say they were unhappy with DVC).

Dopeynme, Congratulations on your purchase, You will absolutely LOVE it. I know the wife and I certainly do, and you are correct I have never heard of ANYONE unhappy with their DVC membership.
