Our Recent Disney Trip

We recently returned from our first WDW trip in 21 years. Yes, I know, don't hate us. Life seemed to get in the way. We stayed at the Beach Club Resort and had a great time. It was little chilly some days and our one night at Downtown Disney was cold. But the attractions, dining, and the Beach Club Resort was excellent.

We had the Deluxe Dining Plan and we changed the name to the "Stuff Your Face" plan because it was so much food and snacks.

Favorite ride - Test Track

Favorite Restaurant - the Yachtsman Steakhouse in the Yachtsman Resort.

The Magic Bands were awesome and great to use.

All in all, an excellent trip and we're seriously considering the Disney Vacation Club.

Welcome! Glad to hear that you had a wonderful return trip!! I hope it's the first of many more for you. We just bought DVC last year and we love it. Thanks to a super cheap annual pass (courtesy of special DVC discount), we'll be going 4 times in 12 months--much better than our every-other-year average. We used DVCbyresale.com and got a great rate at Saratoga Springs. If you buy resale, you lose a little bit of flexibility in non-Disney uses for your points, but you can save a TON of money and get into resorts that Disney says are "sold out". Hope you enjoy the boards. We have an awesome group of people here! mickey

Thank you Princess Cupcake. Our experience was completely different since it was just the wife and I. Our last trip 21 years ago included our two sons who were 5 and 10 at the time. We were able to plan our itinerary, relax, and enjoy every day. Our first Disney alone time since our honeymoon in 1978.

King Fergus you will not be disappointed with the Yachtsman Steakhouse. We went the first night we were there and again the last night we were there. The steaks were excellent. Definitely make reservations. Enjoy.

I love going with my children, but I have to admit... sometimes I do look forward to when they are fully grown and I can plan an itinerary around what I want to do. All that terribly boring stuff that has them sighing and rolling their eyes at me! biggrin

Thank you all for the welcomes and thank you alicemouse for the information on DVC resales. We are exploring that now. The lower prices of a resale will definitely make a DVC purchase more likely. And maybe even another trip this year. mickey

We also bought DVC resale and used the Timeshare Store. They were great and I highly recommend checking out their listings as well.
