SC Flooding Along I-95

SC Flooding Along I-95

Has anyone made the drive down the east coast through SC? From what we understand 95 is closed for a large part of the state and drivers are being detoured to Columbia and then back to 95. About a 2 hr detour. We leave on Sunday and are trying to decide if we should go that way or head toward Atlanta and then down 75. We're coming from Raleigh.

Not sure, but my DH's army unit has been deployed to Columbia for the next 30 days, beginning tomorrow. I can probably give you an update tomorrow afternoon. Columbia has been hit really bad - their water supply is completely contaminated.

Thank you. All the detours route through Columbia so hopefully the interstates are OK around there. SCDOT is routing I95 to I20 to I26 to I95 southbound and the reverse for northbound. Roughly a 2 hour detour so we're gonna try the I85 to Charlotte to I75 to I26 in Columbia should be interesting. Any info you can find out about Columbia would be great...thank you!

We drove thru Columbia coming back home to Charleston on Monday from Atlanta. They routed us to 20 and onto 378 to get back to 26. Once you are on 26 you can get to 95 southbound in about 45 min-hour depending on traffic. I'm just not sure where 95 will put you out above Columbia.

I haven't heard much about when 95 is opening but they are still having major issues with the rivers along that section.

They've done a really good job keeping this up to date with the constant changes. As have each of the county sites.
