Share your favorite planning "tool"

What do you use to plan your trips? A particular website, a spreadsheet, a guidebook, maps, a trip calendar? Do you know of any tools on the web that other folks might not have seen? Let's get a list going! clapping

One of my favorites is the PS calculator You enter in the date you'll be going to Disney World, and it tells you the dates when you can make your advanced dining reservations based on Disney's timelines for different restaurants (e.g. 90 days ahead, 180 days, etc.).

Great question. I create a spreadsheet for each trip, but also use the Disney World website for park hours and parade/fireworks hours.

Also excited that menus and online booking is available on on the Disney World website now. Those are tools I'll definitely use.

The About.com Hotel Wizard in the tools section is handy for people who haven't been.

Somewhere on the program, although I forget exactly where, there is a place to contact the programs maker. That is what I did, and received a nice Email from him in return and I mailed him and check for which he was grateful.

I've never heard of that. Scoping it out now. Thanks Vettelover.

Very good resources! This forum was the main tool I used for this trip. I kind of enjoy planning things the old fashioned way. Researching each aspect and planninng item by item. Next time I think I'll do that, but incorporate some of these tools (MouseManager looks great) to make it a bit easier. One of the things I'm lacking right now is a single list for all my reservations and such. Come to think of it, I think I will use MM for this trip.

I use the All Ears menus the most! They have a great list of what is on the dining plan (and if things are one or two credits) and has the most updated menu.

I guess since food is one of the most important parts of the trips, it would make sense that I spend a LOT of time on that site!

Disney's posting some of its menus online now, too! They're on the individual restaurant pages on their website. The only ones they don't have are buffets and non-Disney-owned restaurants.

I always use menus, too--I do a LOT of thinking about what I'm going to be eating laugh

Oh, good one, caitiesus! Being able to look at menus is crucial to me when I'm deciding where I want to eat. I used Allears quite a lot as well. Am excited about Disney adding menus to its site--I hope they're kept very up-to-date.

I think it's interesting that Disney seems to finally be looking at their "fan space" to figure out what their fans want, an idea that seems a long time coming. It's really surprising that it took them this long to figure out that people really wanted to see those before they went.
