I know, a few years ago, taking walkie talkies into the park was a big trend (maybe because cell phone reception in the parks was so bad at the time). Do people still take walkie talkies into the parks or do they just rely on cell phones now?

Can't speak for now, but I took some one time and had a ball.
It's amazing how many people (mostly kids) you can raise on one of those things and how easy it is to convince some of the them you're the daddy and they'd better get their butts to Cinderella's Castle NOW!!

I've always thought that would be fun (and useful, but fun first 
). Don't think we'd have much use for them yet though, as we normally don't leave each other's side except to visit the potty.

Yeah, and no matter HOW many channels there are, you've got a BUNCH of families using one of them.
You know; I hadn't thought about just how many other people would be using a given channel. Hmm...might be worth bringing some just for a laugh.
It IS pretty funny to hear some of the conversations between family members!
On a more serious note, they'd be worth while probably at a resort on within a park, but the range won't take you much beyond that.
