So Am I not see Anything at Animal Kingdom in September?!

I read an article about the Jungle Book show ending on September 5th which I pretty much gathered because I keep checking everyday as my trip is the 9th to the 18th and I really wanted to see the new stuff at Animal Kingdom. But nothing about when Rivers of Light will appear. So now is there going to be no show while I am there? I was really looking forward to seeing the new stuff. And so far the day I picked to go back and do the night stuff the park is only open to eight. I believe I got a fast pass for Everest at 7:30pm, but I wanted to a late night Safari too, and it seems like the sun will be barely setting by 8. Has anyone heard anything about when Rivers of Light is coming I really hope it is when we go but at the same time I am dreading that its going to be amazingly packed, and we might not be lucky enough to get a fast pass for it.

Yes, it is probable, that there will not be a night-time show on the river during your visit. However don't let that discourage you from going, that is not the only thing going on after dark. You will be able to ride Everest at Night and the Kilimajaro Safari, you will be able to see the Tree of Life awakenings projection showings, and you will be able to take part in the night-time street parties that are going on after-dark at Animal Kingdom. I think if you head over to the Safari after Everest it will be good timing because of natural twilight.

I'm trying not to hold my breath that ROL may be up an running by the 22nd, I have hope, but it's probably just a snowball's chance in hell. There has been no official word yet as to when ROL will open.

We didn't see the show when we were there a couple of weeks ago and there was so much to do other than that.

The tree of life shows are amazing! I could sit there and watch the tree all evening.

There was a lot of seating for the 1st show and the 2nd show had tons. I know that may change when it is RoL but From the way it looked I would think you could get decent seats.

New article I read this morning. mad
At least its still open to 8 when we are there it looks like shortly after that its going to be going back to old times. What the heck are they doing? I think this pretty much confirms no Rivers of Light for us. I hope we get to see everything especially the tree show and the night Safari. I was thinking of hitting the safari right after out 7:20 fast passes for Everest.

I don't know, that article sounds good to me. They're predicting Rivers of Light to still open this year (which honestly I didn't even have confidence in that), they're still going to continue nighttime activities in the mean time, and there has been low crowds which is expected to continue. All good things in my book! awesome

Low crowds is great in my book! But seems like those folks going later in the year might miss out on the night time activities.

I really don't think that this is a big deal, Disney *always* rolls back hours when the kids are in school. The Magic Kingdom isn't staying open too late either - when I'm there at the end of September Wishes is at 8PM and the Park is closed by 9, with the exception of Extra Magic Hours until 10. Epcot and DHS also have 8/9PM closing times during the fall. This is just normal seasonal operation, and with nothing else to compare it to (because this is the first year Animal Kingdom has been open late) people are freaking out. Don't forget that come November and December the sun goes down between 4 & 5PM. It will all be good, all even out, no big deal.
