We got back yesterday evening. Had a great trip! Will catch up after we take care of a water heater problem! I have been cleaning up water since we got home:( Putting in a new water heater now. Joys of returning home after a nice trip. I need another vacation now!

Could always be something worse, but it is never fun. Hope it is all taken care of very soon, and you have a chance to plan your next trip! mickey

Yup, we put in a new hot water heater BEFORE our January trip!! Just a precaution....our old hot water heater was more than 25 years!! Sorry about your luck Boomer. mad Of course it could be worse....you could come home to someone in the hospital. eek

Hopefully, I can start tomorrow. I just downloaded my iphone pictures. awesome

Aren't those gardens inspirational? I always come home with great ideas, and then my husband reminds me we live in the Midwest, not Florida. The plane lands back home to snow. And there go the plans.

Ok let's start this thing. mickey
Sunday, May 10th-Mother's Day--
Got up at 4 a.m. and showered and fed the cat. Left at 5 a.m. Stopped in at the local Dunkin' Donuts for coffee. Sorry, Mr. Ferret, Starbucks wasn't opened yet! Traffic was pretty good. We assumed that was because it was Sunday. It felt so good driving down the road. DH has needed a long vacation away from work for awhile. We stopped and picked up a salad at Wendy's somewhere in Georgia. We made really good time going down. We pulled into the parking lot at the Hampton Inn around 3:45 after dealing with some heavier traffic around Orlando. After freshenging up a bit, we drove to DTD or DS as we will have to get used to calling it. There is still construction going on like in December, but at least the garage was open this time. Love how the signs tell you at the beginning of each row how many spots are available. That was awesome! Made a note where we parked and headed to EOS to eat. Not too bad a line. We tried 2 different wraps this visit--buffalo chicken and a chicken bacon avocado. Do not know if the heat or what was affecting me but I didn't enjoy the food this time. Sad Walked around and window shopped until around 9 and finally had to leave to catch up on sleep.

Monday, May 11th--

Got up at 7 a.m. and checked out of the HI. Headed to our fav resort, POR. I did online check-in plus rec'd an email saying we could bypass the online ck-in desk and get a text when our room was ready. Headed to Epcot. Got there at park opening, which is good for us. We were starving, so we walked over to SS. DH had the breakfast panini w/cheese, pork, bacon, and egg. He said it was yummy! I had the blueberry bread pudding plus coffee. After we finished, we walked over to the favorite ride of mine, LWTL. I could easily live in this place. I have had so many ideas for my garden come from this ride. We then walked through the butterfly tent. So many pretty ones. Walked through MouseGear to look at the new 2015 items. Time for lunch!! Found a little kiosk with grilled cheese online before we went that we were dying to try. It is over near TT. OMG the sandwich was fantastic! We split one cause they are so big. We had the grilled cheese on raisin bread, with apple butter. Comes with a nice salad with apples. The best thing we had on our trip!! I have got to try to make this soon.

We walked around the WS for a bit. Went on the 3 Cab boat ride. Getting around 3 and hadn't heard about our room yet. So, we decided to hop a bus back to see if it was ready. The CM told us the maid was just cleaning it. We could get another room or wait a bit. We decided to wait a bit since we had requested an upper floor, corner room. We were in Bldg. 28, Alligator Bayou. Not real far from the food court, but still a ways to walk. We freshened up and headed for the South Depot bus stop. I like this one better than the West stop. Headed to HS for FP. With waiting on the room, we missed our first FP for IJ. But, we made it in time for ST--yayy. We walked right on and loved it. Next, we had TSM. The CM sent the lady in front of us and the two of us to the other side. So, another walk-on! Wow, I could get used to this! DH killed me. I didn't even come close to his score. Oh well, wait until the next trip hubby! We walked around a bit, saw the Cinderella coach. Park-hopped to Epcot to get dinner. It was so hot. I cannot eat well in heat. So, we headed again to SS so I could get a cold salad. I had the caesar Chicken salad--very good. DH had the fish tacos, a little spicy for me, but he loved them w/potato salad. Walked around through Figment, butterfly tent again, and SE. Got a lovely pineapple soft whip at WS. Walked over through WS, and picked up two Tipsy Ducks in Love. Very nice way to end the evening!! Did some shopping before heading to the bus. Picked up DD a Chip and Dale yard stake that she couldn't take on the plane two weeks ago, DH a F&G pin, and two glass mugs. Headed to bus stop. The heat took a lot out of us! Does that mean we are getting old??

Tuesday, May 12th---

Got up at 7 a.m. again to get the day started. Walked over to the food court and got the oatmeal. Headed to bus to AK. Took forever for a bus to come but we finally get there. Made another opening. We are getting better at this! Walked over and DH got in single-rider for Everest, his all-time fav ride! I was on the phone w/DD and he was back in a flash. I thought there were too many people. That is a record for him! Walked over and the safari had a eek short line! Saw a lot of animals but too hot for most. We have a FP tomorrow early for it again. Walked by Joffrey's for iced coffee across from Yak & Yeti. I got a discount card with my pkg and 20% off Joffrey's was in it. So, we had a whole lot of Joffrey's coffee this trip!! awesome Walked over and did the train to the petting zoo and walked the trails around the park. Started to cloud up and really humid. Parkhopped to Epcot for lunch. Too hot to decide on anything so we walked around looking at the food booths. Not much to choose from as during the F&W in the Fall. Finally, stopped at the Smokehouse and got the pulled pork sandwiches. They were really good. Headed back to room for a small break and to freshen up. This became a routine for us this trip because of the heat. Years before, we never went back to the room. We always kept going. But, that said, we have mostly been going in the Fall or early winter months when it was much cooler.

Headed to MK for FP. Stopped on Main Street at the Plaza to get ice cream. We both got the All-American sundaes which were just what we needed to cool off. Energized and ready to go with all that sugar, we walked around until our time for 7DMT. I never have liked roller coasters and all that stuff, but this one I actually enjoy. It was fun!! Next FP was for Buzz. DH beat me again. I am going to have to give up on beating him any more. He makes it look too easy and then I get frustrated cause I'm trying my hardest and don't get half! We walked over to Pecos Bill for dinner. DH got the chicken sandwich and fries. I got the Southwest chicken salad cause our DD suggested it from her last trip. It was very good! Went on Dumbo, did some shopping. Got my latest pandora disney charm from Once Upon a Time store. We picked up some vitamin water and bananas and watched the MSEP and fireworks. A very good day!

Wednesday, May 13th--

Got up early to head to AK opening cause we have FP early. This was the only day for early FP that we made this trip. Got in the park and headed to get coffee before our safari at 10 a.m. We got in the FP line and waited and waited not moving. Apparently, the animals somewhere decided to stand in the road so it through all the safari jeeps off schedule. But, what can you do? lol It took us awhile but we finally got our turn. Got some more animals that we missed yesterday. The lions were out on their hill sleeping but we saw them. Had a great CM driver. He shared lots of cool info about AK. Picked up powerades to drink on the way over to Dinosaur. Short wait for it. It is funny to share with people that have never been on that ride before cause they always scream! Picked up a snack at Mr. Karnal's (sp) Burgers. Wrote this late at night and can't decipher my writing. Anyhoo, got hummus and pitas. Then, it was time for the LK show in their new arena. We didn't get over there in Dec. so wanted to see how it stacked up against the old place. It was totally awesome! I like the smaller place. It just seems like you are so close to the stage now. Totally loved it!! By now, it was almost 2:30 and time for a break again. When we got to our resort, we walked over to the food court for that wonderful magic cookie bar to share, and some cartons of milk. Yummy!!! We freshened up then headed to Epcot. FP were done for the day so we could just stroll and enjoy the world. We have a disney visa so we were still in time for the free 5x7 picture over at Innoventions. We have it made with Minnie and Goofy this time. Usually it is Mickey and Goofy. She gave us hugs and kisses!! Great picture! Walked to WS and decided it was time for my avocado margarita at La Cava but the line was out the door by about 10 people. Ugh! Just walked to the margarita booth and we both got the frozen ones. Me strawberry and DH lime. We walked around and decided to check out the Tutto Gusto place our DD and son-in-law ate at several times during their honeymoon trip a couple of weeks back. They got the antipasto and said you could mix it up a bit if you didn't want the offerings in each group they had on the menu. So, we walked up and requested a table for two with our margaritas in hand. Wish we had forgone the margaritas until later. Really wanted to try the wine samples but that's for another trip! We picked the asparagus salad, prosciutto, and the La Tur cheese. Also, a shooter dessert-gusto dolci-strawberry. All very good, but not very much to share. Don't get me wrong, it was very good and I know it is tapas-small plates but for $30 I don't know if I would spend that much again. But, it was a very cool place to relax and enjoy the quiet. Maybe I should have had that wine!! We strolled around some more, went on the Mexico boat ride, walked some more, stopped in at the Smokehouse for a piggylicious bacon maple cupcake - which kinda grows on you! With all that sugar energy and the margaritas!!, we parkhopped to MK for Starbucks coffee and to watch parade and fireworks again.

Great TR so far. And the Minnie Pandora bead is adorable! I never noticed it before, but the pumpkin carriage rice krispies treat is just a Mickey rice krispies treat turned upside down. Duh... laugh laugh

Thursday, May 14--

Got up early and headed over to DHS. Picked up Joffrey's coffee and pastries with my discount card!! Loving this!! DH picked up a SW pin to add to his pin collection. Walked into Muppets-short wait. Walked around to see if we could get into ST and walked in. Walked into the animation part that has changed a lot since we were in it last. They have a drawing class now. Left to head to POR food court for lunch. Had the cajun turkey sandwich with chips, drinks. It was so big that we saved 1/2 for next day. It was very yummy! Did not know that when you get the paper drink cups that it has a bar code on it. It tells you how many refills and how long you can use it on the machine when you fill up. That is so strange!

We got on the bus and headed to Epcot for FP. Got on our fav ride--Soarin'. So much fun! Glad to hear they are expanding. Hope that means a new film is coming soon. They should alternate the films here like they do ST so you never know what you are going to see. wink After this, we walked to WS and picked up some beer at Germany. Used FP at Nemo. This is the cutest ride! Ate dinner at SS. DH had the mongolian beef with rice. I had the grilled salmon w/green beans and roasted potatoes. That was a lot of food!! We casually strolled around the rest of the evening dodging people. There was a lot over here. Stopped in Germany to get some Werther's caramel popcorn. Ohh I could eat this every day!! Sorry didn't take a picture, forgot. We just devoured it! Had a very good night!

Friday, May 15th--SW Weekend Day!!!!

We were so excited this morning that we got up at 6 a.m.!! Got on the bus to HS for our first ever SWW. DH was very excited. He loves SW! Empire Strikes Back was the very first date movie he took me to. So, we are kinda SW geeks but not too over-the-top! laugh Picked up a guide since we had no idea where we should go first. Walked by Joffrey's for coffee and a donut. Don't get one of these by yourself unless you really like donuts! These things are as big as your head!! So, DH found on the map where the Darth's Mall was and we headed there. There were 3 shops. The X-Wing Collectibles line was really, really long. It had all the expensive stuff! The Prop Shop was toys, tees. Watto's Grotto was where we wanted to go for cool tees. Got in line. Not a long wait-about 30 mts. They would let like 10 people go in at a time. They had some really cool stuff in there!! But, it was a madhouse. DH got a tee, I got a tee, a mug, and yet another SW pin for DH. We walked around and picked up some cold beverages. There were a lot of people over here so you couldn't really get on ST or anything else for that matter. But, it was really cool to see another kind of atmosphere at HS! Definately, would do this again in a couple of years.
Ok headed back to the resort for some quiet time. We did another first! We rented a surry bike and made a couple of trips around the whole POR resort. It was fun but DH wouldn't ring the bell announcing our arrival behind unsuspecting walkers. He was too embarrassed to so I had to reach across to ring it. That was hard to do because I don't have very long arms! It was funny!!

continued...

We freshened up and ate the other half of our sandwich from yesterday and headed to Epcot for FP and Peter Noone and Herman's Hermits!! This is what I was looking forward too!! I listen to Peter on Sirius when he does his 60s show. Love listening to him talk and tell about meeting some of the 60s singers.
Had FP for Figment, even though we didn't need one. Got right on. Love his upside-down house! Walked in butterfly tent to see how butterflies again. There were more out in the evening than in the mornings we visited. Wonder if the heat was bothering them too?! Picked up orange chicken with rice over at Lotus Blossom Cafe and walked around the shop over there. We saw the coolest sand sculpture of the Monkey Kingdom movie by Disneynature.
Got in the 5:45 concert and had the best time!! We sang, we danced, we had fun!! Especially, since most of the audience is our age and know the songs!! laugh
After the concert, we picked up an order of nachos and some water for dinner. This was a nice, relaxing night!
