Tickets

Hello all! Ok, I gotta ask, where do you all get your tickets for WDW? Do you buy at the gate? Before hand & have them shipped to your home?? And, being somewhat thrifty, where can I get the best deal on tickets???? I appreciate any info/ input you all can give! Smile

Hi Mindy,
I think they are a little cheaper if you order them before you arrive. You could check with AAA if you are a member. There really are not many places to get discount tickets, or at least I have never found one. It has been a long time since we have purchased tickets separately so maybe that has changed. When we did buy them like that I always bought ours at the Disney Store at our local mall. I am not sure if they still sell them or not.

It also depends somewhat on how long you are staying. I've forgotten how many days you're going for?

we're going for 5 days: Oct 13 - 18. Oct 13 is a travel day for us, so not sure we're gonna hit the parks that day, but probably will each of the other days.

I guess I'm hoping for something like a "wow" deal, but I know that's probably not going to happen. Smile Can't blame a gal for trying, though lol

Very few of the ticket sellers can offer much of anything like a discount. There are a FEW that can give you a small discount, but I've never seen a "wow" deal on tickets. That being said, you can make a big difference by buying the right tickets. Are you planning on getting park hoppers or are you thinking one park per day?

Mindy -- Have you checked Mousesavers.com? Mary has every link to *authorized* Disney tickets, so if there's a discount out there, she'll know about it.

I've heard you can get some good discounts from Undercover Tourist and the Orlando welcome center. I've also heard that Wal-Mart in Kissimmee is authorized to sell discounted tickets.

Of course, "discount" just means that the seller got a discount from Disney for buying in bulk, so the difference in price will only be a few dollars.

Also, agreed with Scrappy that you might be able to save some bucks by ordering online from Disneyworld.com in advance.

Florida residents get a nice discount by Disney standards. We have pass options that aren't available to other states. Don't know if you live in FL.

If not, you could do a timeshare presentation and some of the rewards for doing a tour are discounted or free tickets depending on who the developer is.
We've done this before when we wanted free tickets but with the economy in the dumps not sure what the prizes are these days.

Just make sure you don't buy the timeshare. Buy resale.

Like others have said there really are no "wow" legit deals out there. I usually order them and have Disney ship them to me. There is a slight discount if you do it that way.

I cannot say it enough..please be careful if you are buying from non-Disney vendors. I have heard far too many unfortunate stories about tickets not working when they get to the gates and no way to fix it.
