Time to GO, Captain EO

No one take this too personally, but I really do not like Captain EO. sarcastic

I wish they'd bring back Honey I Shrunk the Audience or replace it with something new.

The only thing I heard was that they planned on keeping Captain EO open until interest from guests started waning. Does anyone know any more information on their plans for that attraction?

I don't have any more info, but I'm sure I read that they have something planned for it's replacement which wasn't Honey I Shrunk the Audience, once crowds had had enough of Captain EO.

I have not seen this since 1992 and I am hopeful it will still be there when I go in September. Once i've done it again I will be happy for them to replace it.

Until then I want it to stop lol

I will go on record to say that the 'star' of Captain EO is NOT my favorite star, nor my favorite person. Nuff said!

Hrmmm... I was really hoping that we would get something new instead of Honey I shrunk the audience again.
I don't really care for either of them very much.

Honey I Shrunk the Audience has a nostalgia factor for me. I think it was my first Disney 3d experience. I still remember reaching out to "touch" things and my Dad laughing at me.

I'd be satisfied if they announced a new attraction there tomorrow. Out with old is fine with me awesome

Same here. A talented but somewhat disturbed individual that just wasn't my cup of tea. I was surprised when they brought the show back, especially given the stories surrounding MJ's personal life which didn't exactly fit with Disney's family image.
I've never been to Disney while Captain EO has been showing so have never seen it and don't know if I'd have bothered even if I'd had the chance, but I have seen HISTA a couple of times and found it entertaining, I don't understand why so many have a real downer on it. It would be good to see something new make use of the space though.

This last trip was the first time it was there when we were there. Joe and I took a look at the sign at the entrance, and that was about as much enthusiasm as we could muster. Just not interested. Hoep they find something decent for there. We enjoyed HISTA, but I'd be more than ok with something else silly

See... Captain EO to me has a nostalgic factor for me since it was the first 3D movie id ever seen. Im not a fan of Mr. Jackson, but I enjoy the flick for it being my first 3D movie.

I DID NOT like Captain EO... wouldn't do it again... I think they should replace it with something else for sure.

I cannot argue with the opinions about MJ's personal life and it was a strange decision to bring Captain EO back, however at the time a lot of companies were jumping on the band wagon and Disney were the same and saw an opportunity to change an attraction for next to no cost.

My first 3D film at the age of five was Captain EO and MJ was a favourite musician of mine for years so it does hold a special place for me which is why I am excited to see it one last time because it's not often you get to do something again from when you were a child.

For me his actions means that as a person I cannot accept him however the attraction as a whole does bring back some wonderful memories of time I spent with my dad, who I lost at the age of 17.

It's such a shame that this attraction is tainted with the personal life of MJ, but it is getting old now and I would like to see something exciting in there and get that area a must see area again.

I've seen it a few times there and it's entertaining, but I feel like something should replace it.

Id like to see them do something BIG like with Star Wars... something epic... something that would be amazing in 3D. We got all of the kiddy stuff... Muppets over in HS, Disney Gang in MK, and Bugs in AK... so why not something a little more adult that kids could enjoy as well?

For us, this was a new attraction, since we didn't see it 14 years ago. We had mixed feelings about watching it, but decided to go ahead. I would say both DH and I were disappointed. The 3D wasn't all that good, since it was one of the original movies with that technology, and it's improved drastically since then. Plus, MJ just couldn't act, and the storyline was lame. In the end, it made me sad to see that someone who had such talent (the guy could MOVE!) let it waste away until he became a caricature. Never mind the other unsavoury stuff! yuck

Boo also to Disney for trying to use his death to raise the popularity of an old attraction. It's time for them to replace it with something else, not recycle old stuff.

I think this is a HUGE issue! People go see 3D movies all the time now, it's not that exciting in and of itself. To draw more people to the attraction they really need to plus it up some more and give a good reason for people to sit through the movie.

I saw it in Disneyland (for the first time) December 2010. Beyond the fact that it was cheesy and seemed so random to me, the quality was just pretty bad. I think that's my biggest beef with it. It did make me appreciate the improvement in 3d since then, though.

In disneyland, what was at that attraction before EO? Honey I shrunk the audience as well?

I don't think it was really Disney trying to capitalize on his death. A lot of his fans wanted to have this back. Its not like Disney is making a huge profit for it. Thats just my opinion... lol

I want something new as well. I never cared much for MJ and did not like captain-eo when I saw it back in the 90s.
