When we were there last fall, I didn't notice the lobby lacking....though perhaps a bit cavernous and cold. Looks like the new rugs are a pretty addition.

My complaint about the POR-R were the horribly worn out rooms. We had to switch rooms twice before we got a decent (actually, lovely) room. It really ranks up there for me for bad vacation experiences.

It's my understanding that the room refurb is now done; and I booked our next trip there because I think the resort and grounds are just gorgeous. However, I'm still a bit nervous about the rooms after that experience.

Oh, don't worry. We were there in May, and our room in the mansions was totally refurbished. Lovely marble in the bathrooms, new fixtures, queen beds, decor, etc. They were still working on a couple of sections in the Bayou, but I believe they are finished now.
