Very short notice Pin trading event - pre trip plans updated

clapping clapping clapping clapping

Today is going to be a good day! We have scored tickets to a Disneyland Paris Pin trading event! (I'm still at the eeeeeeeeee phase of I've just booked)

It's been about 2 years since we got to attend an event due to the fact they announce them at short notice and the tickets sell out in 45 minutes, add into that work and family commitments and it is never as easy as it sounds to get to these. It's a hard ticket event limited to 350 people, each event has a different theme and specially released limited edition pins. This event is Mickey the Magician. Normally at events there are meet and greets and my best bit - an hours presentation by an imagineer on the theme of the event (we have done Big thunder and Indiana Jones previously). There is also an all day Buffett (the event is 10am-4pm)

We are booked into the Hotel New York which is the 2nd closest to the park, our trip included half board meal plan so we have 2 free dinners and breakfast is always included.

1 small downside is that some of our best rides (big thunder, space mountain and star tours) are down for refurb as they are building Star Wars land and also getting ready for next years 25th anniversary. But there is the new Remy ride that we've not been on yet which is supposed to be very good.

Who is going?
Myself - newly birthdayed (37) love DLP as its my local park. Refuse to pick a fave character and struggle to pick a top 5! I love pin trading and my collections include DLP cast member pins and Villains.
DS - 18 yo pin trading fan, collects Stitch and Up mostly with some Toy story thrown in.
DSGF - 18 yo NEVER BEEN TO DISNEY! But has always wanted to. We are really excited to show her around.

Resturants are booked

Inventions - buffet in the Disneyland hotel (nearest wdw equivalent is 1900 park fare ?) specialises in seafood, has characters but is fairly peaceful (not the chaos of DLP Cafe mickey)
Walts - on main street , each room is themed to part of the park, loads of original photos of Walt. Serves an awesome Caesar salad.
Remy - new for us but themed to look like the resturant in Ratatouille

DSGF is so excited, She wants to buy ears and see the fireworks among everything else.

Car is booked - way smaller than my pretty SUV type but at least it's insured for me to take it out of the country. I already have France on my sat nav from previous trips, and the car comes with all the correct kit for the lights ect.

Only things left is to wait for the release pics of the new pins, get some euros and pack.
