What are my chances??? ADR last minute????

Ok, I know I waited until the last minute but now I need help. I was really busy with work and school and now I am leaving tomorrow for a 3 night stay at Disney.
There are so many restaurants I want to try but I couldn't make up mind about which ones to do for this trip. I am booking 1 breakfast and 1 dinner for table service this time around. (we are there for a weekend once a month and some days in between so my budget doesn't allow for more than that) LOL

Anyway, all of my top choices are booked solid. Last time this happened, one opened up the morning of our trip and I got in but what are my chances that Ohana will open for dinner sat. or sun. night?
Any other good suggestions for about the same price that might have openings?

For breakfast, we love Cape May and Crystal Palace (and we did Whispering Canyon) a few weeks ago). Should we repeat one of those or try for Tusker House or the character one at the Swan?

Thanks guys!!!!
The only things that are certain for this trip are:

  1. Typhoon Lagoon
  2. Grand Marnier Slushie in Paris
  3. Egg roll at Animal Kingdom
  4. Dole Whip and Funnel Cake at Magic Kingdom
  5. And popcorn somewhere LOL

I say try the Tusker House. I loved breakfast there.

I'm fond of Jiko at AK Lodge. I just check the ADR website and there is availability.

If none of those work out, try Boatwrights at Port Orleans Riverside. Great food, and its usually pretty empty!

And remember to keep calling the ADR line...they may get an opening!

Your best chance is to check with the restaurant directly, not threw the ADR phone line. We have walked up to several restaurants when they first open and can usually get a reservation. We've been told that the computers do not keep up that good with the reservation system and they can have openings and not be showing them if you go through concierge or guest relations. Try directly at the restaurant.

This is from a couple of years ago, so I'm not sure what would apply today. Here are some ideas of restaurants to go without a reservations.

Animal Kingdom Lodge has some great restaurants that are usually fairly easy to get in to even if you walk up.

Boma (at Jambo House) has a great breakfast buffet that's about $25 for adults
Sanaa (at Kidani Village) has awesome food and is pretty easy to get into. Sanaa Menu

I love Cape May, so that's a good choice in my book. I've had luck getting last minute reservations at Via Napoli and Marrakesh both if I've been willing to eat around 4:30. The Wave over at the Contemporary is also not that difficult to get reservations for, neither is the Turf Club at Saratoga Springs.

I hope that helps! Let us know what you choose!

I'd say 2 things:

1.) I second Boatwright's as a good option
2.) Don't hesitate to try something just because it seems busy. We've had surprising luck with things that seemed like there was no way they'd be available.

Thank you so much everyone for the ideas and input. We just got home and I thought I'd let everyone know how it went. We were not able to get into Ohana but will book early next time to be sure we do.
On Sunday morning we went to Tusker House after the safari at AK. Then we did Chefs de France at EPCOT for dinner.
Monday we went to The Wave for breakfast and since is was our MK day, we tried The Plaza and were pleasantly surprised. We just wanted something small since we had popcorn and citrus swirls already....oh and the huge cinnamon roll at the bakery on the way in (and I even remembered to ask for extra icing!!!!) Thanks to whoever I got that tip from a while back. Smile
Thanks again!!! Oh and Saturday night after Typhoon Lagoon, we ate in Downtown Disney, Rainforest Cafe. I have never been to T-Rex yet, but it was an hour and 1/2 wait there!!!!
The parks were dead all weekend ---- 20 minute line for Everest yesterday and 15 for Space Mountain today at noon! Good stuff! Smile
Thanks,
Holly mickey

So glad you had a wonderful time! That's awesome about the short wait times!
