Where should we go first?

Here's my problem. Where should we go first? Universal or Disney? Having never been to Universal before I have no idea what to expect. I was thinking about doing it mid-trip but seeing our Disney tickets will have to be used with in 14 days that just won't work. I know if we finish at Disney it will be on a high note, but if we end at Universal the ride home will be filled with talking about all the new experiences. I wish APs for Disney were an affordable option, but..........What to do?

I would do Universal first and end the trip with the most magical place on earth.

I love Harry but Mickey is my soul mate! laugh We have done Universal mid stay and are always anxious to get back to WDW. I agree with the others, Universal first. With the exception of Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley Disney's attention to detail far surpasses Universal!!

I'm with do the Uni first crew. Though I think it may depend on your travel dates.....

I Concur... A few years ago, I got a cheap flight to Florida and decided to go to Universal because I'd never been. After 3 days (post Harry potter, but pre-Daigon Alley), I felt I'd seen everything and rode the rides I wanted to ride... I soon found myself at Disney for the rest of my Florida time.

With 4 parks, plus Boardwalk, plus Downtown Disney, plus 2 waterparks, plus all of the other recreation... Save the bulk of your time for Disney.

I agree with everyone else. We did Universal days mixed into our Disney days back on our Oct 2012 trip and Universal seemed like a big let down after already having days in Disney. I feel like we would have enjoyed Universal more had we not started out with the Disney parks to compare it directly to.
