Disney's Port Orleans Mardi Grogs Pool Bar

Fat Tuesday is almost here, so what better spot to highlight in our bar & lounge tour than Mardi Grogs Pool Bar! Sitting back a bit from the hustle and bustle of "Doubloon Lagoon" you can find Mardi Grogs in the lively and fun swimming area of Port Orleans French Quarter that has the celebratory feel of all that is Mardi Gras.

About ten wrought iron stools line the dark wood of the bar. The ironwork at this location is beautiful and transports you to the big easy, the city that care forgot. Strolling the grounds of Port Orleans with a cocktail in hand, you won't have a care in the world either. No food is available at Mardi Grogs so be sure to bring a snack before you imbibe in the heat and sun. The bar is open from 11:30am until 9:45pm.

Mardi Grogs serves the standard Disney Pool Bar Menu but the sign over the bar happily proclaims

We would he happy to mix anything your lil' ole heart desires from our full bar

Tropical frozen specialty drinks are nice, but why not celebrate the atmosphere and order a classic Hurricane, in this festive Mardi Gras setting. Once of the nice things about this pool bar is that they serve two Abita Beers on Draft. Abita is a highly renown Louisiana Brewery and you can find both Abita TurboDog and Abita Amber here. If you're looking to spend a quiet afternoon I highly suggest grabbing an Abita and taking a leisurely stroll along the banks of the Sassagoula River.

Don't forget, there are no excuses to stay in your room if the big game is on, especially if the Saints are playing! Mardi Grogs is equipped with a TV at the bar so you can watch the game with brand new friends.

Have you spent time in Disney's easy going Port Orleans Resort? Is Mardi Grogs your spot to a quick drink mid-day? Leave me a message and let me know what your favorite thing is about Mardi Grogs Pool Bar. Laissez les bons temps rouler! Or as the laymen say "Let the Good Times Roll!"

I so agree. The first time I stayed at PO-FQ, I fell in love with it. The grounds are small and beautiful and everything is so homey. Going back in June '12!
