We've got some simple Do's and Don't for making the most of your Character interactions.

Do's and Don'ts For Meeting Disney CharactersDo's and Don'ts For Meeting Disney Characters

  • Do bring something for them to sign, such as an autograph book, pillow case, picture mat, hat, or other fun item to create extra special memorabilia. Check out out previous article about 6 Tips for Getting Autographs.
  • Do be nice and considerate of people in line behind you, and of the cast member handler of with the Characters.
  • Do remember to have your picture taken! Even if you haven't brought a camera along, the PhotoPass photographers will be happy capture your magic moment with the Characters for later purchase.
  • Do check your Times Guide in the morning to see which Characters will be out, and when. Figure out your priorities and make a plan.
  • Do arrive early to meet characters that are only out for a limited time! Lines can close early for the more popular characters.
  • Do Get a FastPass+ for the Princesses and Ana & Elsa when available.
  • Do challenge the Characters to fun competitions when appropriate. Gaston will happily do push ups or arm wrestle with you, and Peter Pan is always up for a crowing contest.

Do Be Polite or Even CharmingDo Be Polite or Even Charming

Sadly, there are a few Don'ts that need to be gone over as well. There always seems to be someone in a crowd that tries to ruin the fun. This is one time you don't want to be "that guy."

  • Don't monopolize the Characters time, by contract a session may only last so long, and there are people waiting behind you.
  • Don't manhandle or play rough with the Characters, be polite and treat them with respect.
  • Don't ask the Characters to hold your children, it's against the rules.
  • Don't ask the characters personal questions that are directed to anyone but the Character. Of course it's the REAL Mickey Mouse! Use some common sense.

Some of the "Competitions" are apparently no longer allowed. Just about two weeks ago my friend and I were there for Gaston and the handler stated to a group in front of us as everyone was talking about Gaston's recent YouTube appearances, that he doesn't do the arm wrestling or physical contests any longer. Didn't hear why...

Oh my! Thanks for the update Rick. We tried to meet Gaston 4 times while we were there last week and the line closed early every time, he's super popular. It was very frustrating.

When is the best time to meet Anna and Elsa?

Hi Andy!

Ana and Elsa have their own special building to entertain guests at in Epcot's Norway now making it much easier to meet them and the lines much faster. Personally, I like to get meet and greets out of the way first thing in the morning, when everyone is bright and fresh for pictures.

Please be sure to ask Their Royal Highnesses permission before attempting to kiss there hand. I would stick to a regal bow myself.
