Downtown Disney's Earl of Sandwich Serves Up Deliciousness

Even after traveling to Florida year after year, there's one counter service restaurant at Walt Disney World that my family just can not get enough of, it's the Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney. We're not alone in the love either, because this fan favorite gets rave reviews from just about everyone it serves.

There's some version of tasty fillings surrounded by bread that just about everyone can enjoy. Way back in 1762, the basic sandwich that we all know and love was named after its inventor, John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich. 250 years later, the current 11th Earl and the Sandwich his family remain passionate about the world's most popular quick food and they started their business in America by bringing all that deliciousness to Disney. This counter service location is always bustling with hungry travelers ready for a filling and flavorful meal. Inside seating can fill up during popular dining times, but there are plenty of tables outside under cover. We like to sit where we can watch the kids ride the Carousel.

The Earl of Sandwich's hot signature sandwiches are at the heart of the menu, which was revamped in 2013 to include even more wonderful flavors. According to their website "the Angus beef is slow roasted in-house and freshly carved. All of our hot sandwiches are made to order from scratch using high quality fresh ingredients and served on our very own Artisan baked loaf and topped with unique sauces and spreads."

The Full Montagu is the namesake specialty here and it's very popular with visiting guests. Hot juicy roasted beef, with turkey, Swiss, cheddar, lettuce, tomato & mustard sauce make for a delectable combination. Everyone in my family loves a different sandwich from the Earl. I'm partial to the Caprese, but my daughter is a huge fan of the Hawaiian BBQ with its grilled chicken, ham, Swiss, pineapple & Hawaiian BBQ sauce.

Sandwiches aren't the only spectacular eats from the Earl. Made fresh daily the restaurant offers a wide selection refreshing parfaits, fresh fruit salad, jello, cake cups, cookies, rich chocolatey brownies, and a truly fabulous strawberry shortcake.

You may remember that last year I wrote about the Trout Pass pool bar being a fantastic place to gather your friends. Well when we held our event there, it was Earl of Sandwich that did the catering! With an order of $100 or more, they will deliver anywhere on property (subject to operational demands). So if you want to gather a group together for a pool party, Earl of Sandwich is a fantastic dining option no matter where you're located.

The first place we head to right after we arrive (and check in at Saratoga Springs)! Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner - one of Downtown's best kept sort of secret dining!

It is always a must for me. On my arrival day I always go to Downtown Disney and I always go to Earl of Sandwich for my lunch. Have yet to have a bad sandwich at Earl of Sandwich. Can't recommend this place enough.

I love this place. Every time I'm at Disneyworld I go there at least twice. Great food. Funny thing is I'm from NYC and we have one here- but its so badly run you would never know its the same company. I would never go back to the NY one

We love the Earl! This is absolutely my favorite counter service and rivals most table service restaurants that we have eaten at. You can't beat the price, quality, and value that EoS has to offer. I was a little bummed to see that Cannonballs (meatball) was off the menu on our recent visit, but if it means that Holiday Turkey is a year-round thing, I'll take it!
