Hot Tubbin’ at the WDW Resorts

Not all WDW resorts have jacuzzis, and some have better jacuzzi situations than others. So if having an outdoor hot tub at your resort is important, read on.

Let's say that you really like to relax at the end of a long day of touring a Walt Disney World theme park. Doesn't a nice soothing dip in a hot tub (Disney calls them spas) sound like just the ticket? There are a lot of benefits to taking a dip at the end of the night including reducing swelling to simply relaxing sore muscles.

If a hot tub to relax in is tops of your hotel amenities list, you should know that not all WDW resorts have hot tubs, and some have better hot tub situations than others. If having a hot tub at your resort is important, be sure to book your stay at a Deluxe or Moderate Walt Disney World Resort Hotel.

In the moderate resort category, Coronado Springs Resort wins out for one of the largest hot tubs on WDW property. Maybe it's because Coronado Springs is a convention hotel - but their hot tub can hold 22 people!

Caribbean Beach has two hot tubs can hold 14, while Port Orleans Resort gets the short end of the hot tub stick, with one that holds only 7 people.

For Deluxe resorts, there's often several hot tubs to choose from. Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge, and the Contemporary Resort each boast two hot tubs.

The Grand Floridian Resort has one hot tub near the Courtyard Pool, The Polynesian Village Resort has two at the volcano feature pool, and the Boardwalk Inn has a hot tub at the Luna Park pool area. My favorite of all the Deluxe Resort hot tubs is smaller spa in Animal Kingdom Lodge's Uzima Springs area. The lush landscaping makes this smaller hot tub feel like a private escape.

But the resort that may take the hot tub crown is the Yacht Club and Beach Club. In the WDWFG forums, WDWFG forum user SpaceAce reports on the Hot Tubbin' at the Resorts topic thread that each of the pools at the Yacht Club and Beach Club has a hot tub - about 5 total between the two resorts. He also mentions that the workout room there has a huge hot tub that no one seems to know about. Score!

What's your hot tub experience been like at the WDW resorts? Are they a must-have for you, or are you happy with a Jacuzzi tub in your room or a regular old pool? Comment below and share your thoughts!

It is my understanding that the Grand Floridian has two hot tubs, one at the Courtyard Pool and one at the GF Spa, which is open to guests of the GF and the Polynesian. Polynesian guests are welcome to use the hot tub at the GF spa, not the hot tub in the Courtyard.

Technically, it's three hot tubs.
At the spa, the hot tubs are indoors, located in the mens and womens locker room areas- so two separate hot tubs. The upside is that the spa facilities are beautiful, with lockers, lovely showers with toiletries, robes, slippers, water, fruit- very relaxing place. But it's indoor. And if you're a couple staying at the Polynesian, there is no place for you to soak in a hot tub together (because of the no pool hopping rule for resort guests, Disney does not welcome Poly guests at the GF Courtyard pool, the shared is at the spa). But the deep end of the Volcano pool has warm water jets and a little bench area, which is supposed to make up for not having a hot tub but does not.

Hmm I never really thought about hot tubs at Disney before, probably because I am usually there in the summer. I enjoyed the one at the Contemporary though! It was large nice and hot - great for aching feet and legs!

Now that I had one, I would really want one. I would prefer one in my own room, but since we didin't win the mega millions, I guess I will have to deal with the public ones!

Fort wilderness campground has a hot tub at the main pool and now one at the quiet pool by the cabins. We were there in october and felt we were in paradise as we quite often found ourselves the only ones using the quiet pool.

Hot tub at the Yacht Club was great, we used it late at night (Even though you're technically not supposed to) and it was nice and relaxing. Perfect to unwind after a long day at the parks.

I will be there in January for the marathon. I think runners and other folks there would be interested in the hot tubs and spas for after running. Thanks for the information here, it's a great start to my search.

Polynesian Resort actually has two hot tubs now, one by the volcano pool and another by the kids’ pool.
