Spoiler-Free Avengers: Age of Ultron Review

Avengers: Age of Ultron, Marvel's 11th film, assembles into theaters today and it's expected to smash box office records. Okay, I'll try and not do any more Avengers puns but seriously, Avengers: Age of Ultron is one film that you most definitely don't want to miss.

I had the chance to attend the first press screening of the movie in Los Angeles and I've been waiting to share my thoughts since seeing it. This will be a spoiler-free review because I don't want to ruin anything for you - there's some WHOA moments that you'll want to enjoy seeing firsthand on the big screen.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is in Theaters May 1st

Avengers: Age of Ultron picks up 6 months to a year after Captain America: The Winter Soldier. A tip: Watch Captain America: The Winter Solider before seeing the second Avengers or at least make sure you watch the post-credit scene. It's where we get our first glimpse of Pietro and Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, who are a welcome addition to the movie.

When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth's Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

Avengers

From the very beginning, you get to see that The Avengers are back and fighting together as a team. There's no wasted time seeing where they've been or trying to get them together. They are doing what they do best - fighting bad guys. In this case, S.H.I.E.L.D. has fallen (hopefully you are watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC!) and while in an Eastern European country known as Sokovia, they come across newcomers with powers they haven't seen before - Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.

Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver

Ultron is voiced by James Spader and after I saw the movie, someone said they thought that James Spader should just go ahead and voice every villain from now on. He's just that good - he brings so much emotion and humanity to a character that is an A.I. robot. He also works hard at tearing apart The Avengers - which I believe starts to set up Captain America: Civil War.

I mentioned how Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were a welcome addition to Avengers: Age of Ultron and it's true - by the end of the movie, I was openly smiling at how COOL Scarlet Witch was. She's sure to become a favorite to the fanboys and fangirls out there. Another person receiving a much deserved developed story line is Hawkeye. I don't want to reveal much more because of spoilers but I think you'll enjoying learning about his character more.

Hawkeye

Avengers: Age of Ultron has it all - laughs, tears, non-stop action and fun. Favorites like War Machine and Falcon pop in, there's an ultimate Avenger vs. Avengers showdown, a little romance brewing and some great ongoing gags throughout the movie that you'll enjoy too.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is in theaters now! Grab you tickets now through our Fandango link and prepare for some fun this weekend!
