We've seen Davy Jones at Epcot before, he's really good. We've also seen Mickey Dolenz a few times and the funny thing is they interchange each others songs. Davy will be singing some song that Mickey sang for the Monkees and vice versa.

Over the years, we've also seen Paul Revere, Chubby Checker & Herman's Hermits (multiple times).

All were good, and Paul Revere does such an energetic show that you forget that Mark Lindsay isn't the lead singer anymore.

Can't pick one above the others, I would just tell you to go see your favorite and you'll be entertained.

One funny thing about Chubby Checker. We saw him probably 15 years ago at "Oldies Night" at a Nashville Sounds (minor league) baseball game. There was the game, then the concert with Chubby, Gary Puckett, the Grass Roots and I think there may have been some others.

All the other groups had a BUNCH of hits, but Chubby was pretty much limited to 'The Twist' and when he started playing it, a bunch of people went on the field to dance. Well, Chubby did the Twist for about 15 minutes and I thought a few of the people out ther were going to die right then and there. (You had to be there.) laugh

I think the fifth dimension would be fun!

I've also seen, over the years, Lover Boy and the Turtles Smile

We saw Peter Noone in Reno one night. He was making fun of what a lover boy his guitar player was and he told the audience his room number.

The odd thing WAS though, that the room number he told the audience was my wife's and mine!

I kept hoping some 60's groupies would show up during the evening, but alas they never did.

Ummm... you get old, you've seen a lot of stuff.

Well, the secret THAT day was to be going IN to the bathroom as Mickey was coming OUT.

It's the simple things.

Is Edward suggesting that the rest of us don't spend enough time in bathrooms? Or just not enough time in bathrooms with Mickey Dolenz?

Well, if you want to run into people, then bathrooms (pretty much like Wal-Mart) are someplace that everybody eventually goes to!

That advice may be my problem as I'm not big on public restrooms. Who would have thought that's why my life is so boring? eek

So where was this?

Reno, at the Silver Legacy Hotel. We were there for a weekend, and the "Teen Idols" (Mickey Dolenz, Bobby Sherman & Peter Noone) were appearing there Friday and Saturday. We went to see them on Friday night, and on Saturday Mickey was at the pool with a bunch of his family members. Must have been 15 or so of them, mostly cousins, etc. Everybody was cool about them, not really bothering him except to say HI now and then.

It just happened that while going to the restroom I opened the door and out came Mickey. (We'd spoken earlier, but he thanked me for my "door service")

Sounds like a fun concert! "Teen Idols" are getting a big renaissance these days; is it Vh1 that's doing a reality show about a bunch of them?

It's a bunch of people who were famous as teens but nobodies now. Sadly most of them weren't even that huge as teens.

That's the one! It's really kind of sad; they're all going to lengths to revive careers that shouldn't probably be revived at all...

I mean, who cares if the kid from Blue Lagoon makes it big again?

Primarily...the kid from the Blue Lagoon.
