Are there characters at Downtown Disney?

Are there characters at Downtown Disney?

I've never seen costumed characters or autograph signing at Downtown Disney. Is that something they do only inside the parks or when you're paying for something like breakfast with the characters?

Just popped into my mind -- I've NEVER seen characters there!

Great question-- I haven't seen any either. Maybe Stitch way back when they were doing the big Stitch push? But that would be it!

Come to think about it we never have seen any either. Guess you have to pay admission prices to be entertained by costumed cast members, But we have seen a few "characters" around DTD just not on Disneys payroll.

We've seen some characters, too!

Agreed that it seems they make you at least pay for something -- food, a character meal, etc. Though didn't characters used to hang out in hotel lobbies? I imagine that would have been free to anyone as long as they knew about it.
