Bass Excursions

So the bf and I are planning a few extras this trip..like MNSSHP!!! ( yay yay ) He however, has recently gotten into bass fishing and realllllly wants to go on one of Disneys excursions...Has anyone done this? Whats it like? More importantly is it worth the giant hunk of change?

Honestly I have never , ever heard anyone say a thing about them! That in my own mind makes me think they are not anything special. I could be wrong though.

Hrmmm, I have no experience at all with these other than knowing that they happen. I don't really know any fishermen.

I do know that they tend to be early morning excursions, and I seem to recall reading somewhere that someone thought it was "nice". I love being up before everyone and watching the resort come to life, and if I loved fishing I'm sure I would think it was pretty great. Plus, Bay Lake is beautiful first thing in the morning.

Sorry, I know that's probably not very helpful.

Let us know if you decide to do it! I don't have any experience with it, but I'd love to hear your impressions!

It's a catch and release program, isn't it? Is that pretty typical?

Thanks RobNLyn! He looked more into it and apparently they do Bass Fishing Competitions there because Disneys lakes are so full of them. However, he doesnt want to use live bait (hes a wussy when any kind of animals are involved...which is A-Ok with me!!!) So we are going to do something else instead! (Again..ok with me...not really a fishing fanatic! haha!)

We went a few years ago on Bay Lake. The skipper brought drinks and chips, and all the gear. He was very friendly and knew where the good spots were. We all had a good time and caught plenty of fish. My wife even caught a bird. (another story) It's a catch and release excursion unless you're staying at Fort Wilderness.

It is expensive but we all had a blast and plan to do it again one day.
