Birthday Surprises

It's great to have a SO that appreciates WDW as much as you do! I woke up to this this morning:

Among the loots - a few limited edition pins for my collection:

...and a new bowl!

And it's a BIG bonus that's he's a baker!

Woo! yay

No way! Is it your birthday?! Wow!

stars birthday stars

What an incredible bunch of gifts to get you excited for your Disney trip! The bowl is too much fun; I'd love to have one of those! It's like Mickey helping you start your day off right laugh

Also, the cake is just incredible. The detail around the ears and all the teeny-tiny frosting stars are amazing.

Have a wonderful day celebrating, Jeff! I'm so glad you're a part of our little group here on WDWFG so that we have a chance to celebrate with you.

Thanks Annie! Yep, today's the big day. Yay! The bowl is a great compliment to the Mickey silverware we got last year - haha!

Wow, what a great morning for you! A big happy birthday to you, my friend!

The cake is astounding. How long did that take, I wonder.

Thanks SpaceAce! Joe says it took him about an hour to decorate - he's never done that type of piping before so it was a learn as you go thing.

Thanks cdub!

Thanks scrappy! I am totally loving this bowl. 47 going on 6, I am...

That's the most realistic Mickey-looking iced cake I've ever seen! What a wonderful gift!

(The bowl and pins are great, too, but they don't have frosting, you see...)

Thanks so much, bali and Bella! I loved this cake and could not believe how real it looked! It was a shame to cut into it, but heck, it's cake! I took a hunk of ear first....

In the end, I ate way too much and loved it all!

I really appreciate everyone's wishes - I am so glad to be part of the magic here!

Happy belated birthday Jeff! Did you feel bad at all cutting into Mickey's face? I'd feel a little weird about it, both because I'd have a mangled Mickey and because that cake is a work of art.

I did feel bad cutting into it because it looked so great. But it tasted even better, so I got over it really quickly - har!

Hi Bella - it was vanilla! I shared some with the neighbors and then stuck an ear in the freezer for future enjoyment biggrin

You'd rarely hear a story that ends with an ear in the freezer that makes me so jealous.

Lucky me, that's what he does! He also tests recipes and gets cookbooks to review/preview and test. And they send him gadgets!

(Note: I am not allowed to touch said gadgets as I have a history of finding alternative uses - like using an offset spatula to spread spackling or any of the many wooden spoons and whisks as paint stirrers.....)

We can always count on Bella to ask the important questions!! That cake is amazing and the gifts are so cool! Belated Birthday wishes, sorry I'm a little late jumping in here...but if you're anything like me, the longer the celebration the better...I usually try and stretch the celebrating out for a week!!

1. He also makes me get up every morning and exercise (and I don't like mornings OR exercise!)

2. I take ALOT of what he makes into work and fatten them up! Er...I mean....to share the love!

Yep, we just moved from Minneapolis to Charlotte. The new folks I work with love Treat Day; the folks I left are not talking to me. They were fine with me leaving, but were REALLY mad that I took Joe with me..... laugh

I hop you had a wonderful birthday Jeff, from the looks of wonderful surprises I am sure that you did Smile

My husband is a baker as well and I had to put my foot down about bringing things home.

But he is also in trouble right now as I just pulled the "How come I didn't get a cake like that for my birthday" lol.

Cheers to you Jeff

Bella! Neighbor! Our first excursion south of Charlotte was to Charleston, and we went through Columbia. I am jealous that you are an hour and a half closer to my Disney than we are though silly
