Classic Movie Series?

I was checking out the Back to the Future trilogy off and on this weekend. It's interesting how you never think about those movies very often but I think they were great. Are there any movie series that you think were great? Sequels are usually so bad, so it's fun when the whole series is good.

I dont know what is considered a "classic". Whether its how old it is... or how popular it has become... but I love The Matrix Trilogy (and yes... the first is the best, and the other two arent as good, but still fun) and I love the Oceans movies. 11 12 and 13. Those were fun.

Umm...Star Wars...but mostly the originals. I enjoyed the second of the new ones, but obviously, the originals were WAY better and I would watch them once a month if I could. "I love you" "I know" Laughing out loud

I am all about series.. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, Matrix, Pirates of the Caribbean, X-Men, Batman, Halloween, Harry Potter... this list could probably go on.
I do have to admit that ALL movies in the series I mentioned might not be the best but overall I love them.

I am a HUGE LOTR fan. I want to watch through them sometime, but Jason doesn't like them Sad. I am a huge fan of series because you get to know the characters more than a single movie!

I'm concerned about the third one because the 2nd one just BARELY worked. I watched it again the other day and I was amazed at how much stuff he fit in that movie. If he had made ONE misstep it would have been a disaster. I'm hoping he lessens the scope a bit for the next one.

Jason doesn't like LOTR? Does he like the books?

Nope, thought it was too much walking. I read the series in high school and LOVED it.

The thing with Nolan for me is... I loved him since I saw Memento. Just an amazing movie. So after Batman Begins... I was aching for more. Especially the hint of the Joker at the end. So when the Joker was cast, and it was known it was Heath... I was like... seriously? Why Ledger? But "In Nolan I Trust" came to mind, and was blown away by the movie. So with Bane and Catwoman in the next... "In Nolan I Trust".

lol

That's another thing that's so discouraging about the next one. As I watched "The Dark Knight" the other day it was just killing me that we weren't going to have any more Joker.

Yeah... the original plan was to have the Joker in the third one. Kinda why it took so long for Nolan to commit to the third movie. But I give Nolan a lot of credit. He isnt going to bring in a new actor for Joker. But I still love the Jokers magic trick. I laugh every single time still.

Ditto on LOTR and POTC. I could watch both over and over and over. That Orlando Bloom is in both is just icing Smile

I like the Bourne films as well.
