Computer games

Hi everyone!

I hope this isn't too long and boring.

I'm in New Jersey and have been online since 1996. The Dell Inspiron 530 computer I bought July 20, 2008 is my fourth computer. I bought it after the motherboard on my previous computer, a Gateway, committed suicide. My Dell came with a 2 gigahertz processor, a 250-gigabyte hard drive and a gigabyte random access memory on which I run Windows Vista Home Basic operating system. My next door neighbor was able to salvage the 160-GB hard drive from the Gateway, on which I run Windows XP Home operating system. So I dual-boot; though my system defaults to starting Vista, when the Dell logo screen appears, I can hit function key F12 and start XP.

Since I like to play games and have had a computer since 1996, I have a lot of old computer games. Am I the only person here who likes text adventure games like Colossal Cave Adventure; graphic adventures like the Leisure Suit Larry series and the King's Quest series from Sierra; first-person shooter games like Wolfenstein 3D and Doom from id software; Sanitarium from ASC Games; The Curse of Monkey Island and Grim Fandango from Lucas Arts; Dust: A Tale of the Wired West from Cyberflix; grab and dash games like Lode Runner from Sierra; and others?

Please give me your thoughts, and perhaps tell me that I am not alone. Thank you.

Jim

I used to play the Sierra/Wolfenstein type games before I got into Wii and PS3 stuff...it was a while ago though!

Love all those games. Money Island is one of the best series of all time.

Never got into any of those games. Got hooked on my first MMO last year (Star Trek Online), still am hooked on it. We have a Wii that we go through spurts of using, still have not played Epic Mickey yet, and I just got an XBox for Christmas that I still have to figure out how to use. A have played Black Ops on it though.

We do (or have done) alot more of the MMORPG games over the past 10 years or so - Dark Age of Camelot, EverQuest, World of Warcraft - but also have had lots of fun computer games, like Diablo and Diablo II, and Alice. When I got my first computer in the early 1990's, someone gave me a copy of Leisure Suit Larry but I couldn't figure it out. I was not all that smart apparently. laugh

Currently, we just play ToonTown or Wii (Epic Mickey) mostly, but not very often, especially while I recover from the surgery.

Diablo II was a hoot. So Jeff, you managed to successfully quit WoW? You should write a book helping some of those others who can't seem to quit!
