Haunted Mansion theme rooms

Have the "Haunted Mansion" theme rooms been nixed from Port Orleans resort? The artist conception of what the rooms would look like were so unique. Maybe they thought they were too scary for kids?

Gosh, I haven't heard. I remember hearing that they test marketed really well, though. I mean, who doesn't love HM?

Welcome by the way, Poppet. We're so glad to have you here Smile

I read this thread then immediately looked up the photos...I would love love love to stay in a room like this. I'm a fan of all things creepy (HM, ToT, nightmare before christmas)

Wouldn't a new resort themed after the HM be amazing....like staying in side the attraction

This is one thing at Disney I would never do....I've never loved Haunted Mansion because I don't do "scary" at all. But I feel like there would be a lot of interest in these rooms so I can see why Disney would want to convert some rooms to be themed after HM. mickey

I remember hearing about them but I am not sure if they are still in process or if they have been nixed. Wasn't it supposed to be at a Port Orleans resort? I know they just announced the Princess rooms at POR...perhaps they decided to do those instead.

Hauted Mansion Rooms would be perfect for Port Orleans. I'd love to stay in one! I think if they want to do princess rooms they should do them at one of the other resorts. I'm super excited about the pirate room we're staying in soon!

The Haunted Mansion rooms would have been perfect at Riverside in the "mansion" section - like Disneyland's version in New Orleans Sqaure.

When I first read about it on the portoreleans.org site, I thought the Princess rooms would have been perfect in the French Quarter with them doing the refurbishments but they said they would be over at Riverside.

It's a shame, can anyone think of another resort at Disney that the "Haunted Mansion" rooms would be great in?

I Think you pretty well nailed it to be honest. Riverside just seems like the perfect fit for it to be honest. Maybe they need to open a resort just for room themed rides?

I had to do some research on this one...it looks like Disney was sending out survey's to guest asking which room they preferred to stay in. A Haunted Mansion type room..or a Princess Room. They were shown the pictures below and asked to choose .

It was never actually announced that these would happen...until recently when the Princess Tiana rooms were announced at POR. The Haunted Mansion rooms look pretty cool..hopefully they will keep it on the backburner!

In all seriousness... Disney should had known which one would be picked. Thats like saying would you like Cheesecake or cheese.............

A better comparison should be either Pirate or Haunted. Not a Disney Princess.....

IMHO, the Haunted Mansion rooms look cooler. I'd rather stay in them. Why couldn't they do 2 themed rooms? At CBR you can choose either a "Pirate" or "Nemo" themed room.

You can tell I am not taking the rejection of the Haunted Mansion rooms very well.....

muchlove It's okay..I am guessing that if Disney cared enough to draw up renderings it's not something that they are just going to throw out. I think we will see these rooms in the future.

Can you think of another resort they would fit in at? I can only envision them at Port Orleans. Do the Deluxe resorts feature "themed rooms" or is that only the Moderates?

So far it seems to only be the mods.

I think that I have to agree with what someone said on here earlier..I can see Disney testing these types of rooms out because they are thinking of creating a ride themed resort once the economy picks back up.

I agree though..POR is the only option for this.

Is this supposed to be an easy question? I cant decide between cheesecake and cheese... i like them both too much.

On the rooms I'd love to stay in a mansion room. I think on the drawings they have made the princess rooms look way bigger though.
