How old do you need to be to be a senior?

I am old, but not old enough to be a senior, I don't think.

I even had to send my lunch bill back a few weeks ago because they gave me the senior (over 65) discount. I was told I should have said thanks for the dollar off, but that would be cheating to me.

So how old is senior here?

Good question. Senior used to be over 50, then was bumped up to 60, and now it's hovering at 65.

I guess as people live longer, they have to wait longer for discounts!

I guess "senior" largely means either your kids are grown or you don't plan on having any. Probably largely a state of mind...by which definition I am definitely a "senior".... wheelchair

If "senior" means I'm ready to retire, count me in! wink

I believe that in the US Senior is commonly used when someone is over retirement age, which right now is 65, but that's always subject to change. The US is pretty good at moving the bar when it comes to applying for senior services.
I mean, in the military you can retire after 20 years of service, in theory you can be retired at 38.

I have reached the point where I do not even have to ask for a senior discount.
They just look at me and I get the discount. whoopdedoo wheelchair

Oh Vettelover - you are living MY life! I have been gray since my mid-thirties, and refuse to colour my hair. I have finally hit my sixties, but I've been offered the senior's discount for years now. Sometimes they don't ask - just give it to me automatically. I've given up stressing about it - in my head, I'm still 35, but the wrapping could use a refurbishment.

I don't think that there are direct discounts from Disney, but there may be if you go through AARP for your tickets.

OOH! Good thinking, Kristen! I guess that would exempt us from buying a package deal w/room, dining, tickets for the rest of us, eh? Thanks for the heads up, though!!
