"Never Done" Trips

Millie was discussing how they like to do trips where they focus on doing things they've never done before. If you were planning your "Never Done" trip, what are the three things you'd put on your list? For me:

Stay in the Polynesian
Play Mini-golf
Eat at Wolfgang Puck's

Oh, great question! If I was going on a "never done" trip, I would:

Go parasailing at the contemporary
Do Sum of All Thrills
Eat a Bratwurst at Sommerfest

Stay at the Grand Floridian (after selling all my possessions, maybe)
Eat at Victoria and Alberts (same)
Try the Dale Earnhardt racing thing.

Do the Keys to the Kingdom tour which I have just never had time to do
Take a fireworks cruise during Illuminations

These are great pics!

I might try the Swan & Dolphin
Eat at Fulton's Crab House
And I'll steal the cruise idea but do Wishes.

That is exactly the ones I did on our last trip, The Illuminations cruise was due to the kind generosity of Mrhub and scrappy. Come to think of it the tour was the all day tour, The backstage magic tour, and it was really a great in depth tour with great guides.

Sounds amazing! Maybe one day I can afford this vaycay. I'll keep saving. Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself! It does sound great!

I plan every trip as a 'Never Done Before' trip. The last one was DW's first time at WDW (as an adult), so we went all out. This trip will be our first time staying on property with some other special first time activities planned. WDW has enough to do that you could go four or five times a year trying new things each time and never run out.

Very true.

Pretty excited to hear all about your AKL trip, LIFL. How many days til you leave (do you have a count-down yet?)

I'm not counting days yet as we are outside the 180 day window yet:) Soon as we get there and I have all our ADR's made, it's
stars stars clapping clapping stars stars time!

I'll be creating a trip planning discussion thread soon. I have everything mapped out pretty well, but there are still plenty of decisions yet to be made and YOU GUYS get to help with that biggrin

I don't know as I could do a trip of nothing but things I've never done before (the temptation of doing some of my old favorites would be too great), but I definitely try to do as many new things as possible on a trip. There's still plenty I haven't done at WDW--especially new restaurants to conquer! awesome

Oh, I didn't mean do nothing but new things. Just pointing out there are an awful lot of things to do. We'll be doing some new things every day we're there in December.

I would....

Spend one morning just sleeping in, ordering room service, and reading the paper on the balcony

Stay at a park until the end of an evening extra magic hour

Go to Hoop Dee Doo Revue (have you guys been? What do you think?)

I LOVE Hoop Dee Doo Revue! It is corny and silly and just what you want when you are on a Disney trip and being a kid again!

I took my adult friend, who had never been to Disney before, a year and a half ago. She had the best time.

The slapstick comedy is corny but funny. The food is decent - all comfort food- ribs, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits. They let you play a washboard, they visit and sing about tables and even pull audience members on stage. It's a fun show.

But that's just my opinion!

Great photos! Thanks for posting! Has the show been the same for the six gazillion years it's been on? I wonder if it's changed at all.

Space Ace -- I love your first choice for your "never done" trip!

Had already decided to do two of the three. Maybe we'll go for the trifecta! I would highly recommend room service while on vacation. It does cost a bit more, but it's so awesome to have someone bring you breakfast while you're still in your skivvies (or other chosen sleeping attire) - whatever sleepwear you choose, you may want to put a robe on awesome

I agree about room service. I've done it a few times and it always feels luxurious. Best was breakfast every morning at my hotel in Quebec City - most "European" city on the North American continent. Nothing like a beautiful room service tray with fresh, warm croissants, delicious jams and bountiful breakfast...not to mention FANTASTIC hot coffee!

My room had a lovely view of the old city and it was wonderful to just sit there relaxed, enjoying a delicous breakfast and beautiful view...it was October and the leaves were beautiful and later in the week there were a few snow flurries. A real treat as a NYer transplanted to FL at the time...and desperately homesick!!

Room service is always worth the splurge IMHO Smile)

Good morning!

@ ChipnDaleFan: Did all three things mentioned in your May 8, 2010 post:

Stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge from December 11 to 16, 2007.

Keys To the Kingdom Tour on December 8, 2003.

Hoop De Doo Revue at least twice.

What's Sum of all Things?

Here's a link about Sum of All Thrills! Looks cool! I think a few folks around here have done it and can give you the scoop:

I learned how to really enjoy life from my mom. One of the things she never misses is room service. Even on a weekend trip, she always has room service at least once.

It can really make the difference between a stressful "vacation" and a relaxing time away. I even get room service when I'm in hotels for work silly

After WDW prices, a $37 steak seems cheap! ;-D

I love those Hoop De Doo pictures. It also gives you a good reason to go over to Fort Wilderness, which I think is a blast.

This is one that's on my to-do list as well. Has anyone done this?
