We have used it for our last 2 or 3 trips. Nothing much to it. They will ask you just a few questions and you will be good to go.

We tried it for one trip and thought it saved a lot of time. Unfortunately you can't make any last-minute requests, but I think it's a great service especially when you're taking Magical Express and end up with a huge line at the check-in desk at the hotel.

I haven't used it yet but the concept sounds pretty cool..I wonder what the difference is between online & normal check-in. I would miss the interaction when I got there.

Well we have used the online check in since it started. It works great. Never had more than 1 person in front of me at Pop Century. I was even able to request a certain building and room area while at the desk and got it. I took a picture of the room door and number the last time we were there and this time I am going to show the CM the picture and ask for the same room. Should be interesting.

Joe I hope you get the same room! crossfingers
I tried the online check in and it was easy... Except it wouldn't let me fill in the room request box. Which isn't a big deal because I already have a magic view room. But I wonder if that part froze up for anyone else? confused

Usually it doesn't let you do any specific room requests (besides pack and play). I wonder if that's changed (would be great if it did!) awesome

Congrats! You're almost there!!

When you use the on line check in you still get to talk with a CM. While your standing at the registration desk you can ask for the particulars. It's not a problem. We go about 4 times a year and never during the busy season. Being retired we have that option so there is always time for the CM to take a little extra step for us. Besides, I'm charming and it almost always works for me. yay

How could anyone say no to Joe!? I like to think I'm pretty smooth; I can't wait until I'm as experienced as you are.

Can I just tell the CM "Joe said I could" when they tell me I can't request a particular room?

That doesn't sound too bad! I will have to try it out next time!

Joe, I hope you get your room!

So I'm heading to All-Star sports in 32 (?) days now... how exactly does one do online check in? I'm fairly sure this is something I'm going to want to do from the ME bus... my plane lands at MCO around 1045pm

OK -- this'll be easy! 10 days before you check in, get into your reservation on the disneyworld.com site with your reservation number (you'll probably also have to register for the site if you haven't already). Once you're at your reservation, you'll see something that offers you the opportunity to do online check in. Just click the box and you're off! You should also get emails prompting you to do online checkin.

Is the benefit just the shorter line?

I am a big loser and I love arriving at the resort and waiting in line..but there are a few times the line has been outta control...and it would have been nice to skip it.

We always want to convince the front desk CM to change our room somehow anyway, so we've never actually tried online check-in.
