Pop Warner Hotels?

I've seen previous posts listing which hotels are designated Pop Warner Hotels, I've looked around for 2013 info but can't seem to find it. I'm beginning to plan my December 2013 trip, and I know Pop Warner will be going on but don't know what hotels will be involved.

We hope to stay at POFQ, so fingers crossed!

Is anyone aware of where/when I would be able to get this info. I imagine it won't be for a few months (it is only April after all) but I want to be on top of it when the info is published.

Based on what I've read I am not too worried about Pop Warner's impact on the parks as much as at the hotels.

Our vacation dates are not flexible becuase of my partner's work so we are unable to avoid pop warner completely...any advice on how to best plan to avoid the mayhem would be great!

Thanks in advance!

Hi there! I wasn't able to find room block information for this year yet, but that doesn't really surprise me. It's quite a ways out for them still. The kids usually stay at the Value Resorts. I think that you'll probably be fine at Port Orleans, I don't think I've ever heard of a problem there.

We stayed at POFQ last year during pop warner week and we didn't see any signs of them being. It was quiet as usual. I just remember that one of the disney new feed sites announced the hotels with room blocks and FQ wasn't on there. Phew

Hi we were at POR during Pop Warner week a few years back when I think it was one of the designated hotels (I don't think it is currently). There was a specialised check in desk in the lobby. As we are from the UK, we did not know what Pop Warner was so we asked a CM who told us a little about it. We saw a few large groups of teenagers in matching t-shirts/uniforms around the resort. They were all smart, happy, polite young people. We enjoyed seeing them having such a good time and they did not impact on our enjoyment of our resort at all. I know other people may have had less positive experiences, but I personally had no negative effects from being in Disney during Pop Warner week.

thanks for the insights everyone, I think we will just make sure to request a quiet room away from the pool. Last time we were at POFQ we were in the farthest building from the main area (building 1 i think) and it was only a short walk to anywhere we needed to go (POFQ is small anyways)

It nice to hear some less alarming opinions about Pop Warner week...some other forums i read made it seem like a nightmare

I think that there tends to be a bit of mass hysteria that occurs around Pop Warner. I've been twice during that time and never had a problem. "They" say it only takes 10% of a crowd to panic to start a riot, and I think that tends to be the same for popular opinion on web forums. Someone complains on a popular board and it snowballs. In the case of Pop Warner it's created rumors that have lasted for years that really are much worse than the reality is.

I have to echo what others have said. We were there during Pop Warner several years ago and it had absolutely no effect on our trip. We were not staying at one of the resorts where Pop Warner kids were staying, though.

We were at POR during Pop Warner week in 2007, There was no issue in the parks. But we did have issues with practices outside @ 6:30 AM. The kids were all very well behaved, they just had this need to be cheering every where they went, no matter the time of day.
