Wascally Wabbits!

I admit, this is not really Disney related but I wanted to share these photos with you all.

We found a baby bunny in our front garden a couple of weekends ago when I was planting a new tree. It was so small, we didn't really know what it was at first. His ears were folded flat and his eyes had not yet opened. We built up some mulch around him and put some leaves over him for protection.

We weren't sure if he/she was abandoned or what but after reading up on the topic, we learned that the mother only tends to the babies once a day for about 5 minutes!

We kept an eye on the little guy over the next few days and one bunny turned into five in the nest! So, one evening, we just happened to be in our front room when the mother came to feed her babies. It was so cool to see.

The first few photos were taken through a rather dirty window (I have to get out and do my spring cleaning) hence a bit of haze in the photos. The last two photos were taken outside with no window in between.

Thanks everyone! We're really enjoying watching these little guys grow.

We came home from work last night and the mother was back. Here are a couple of more photos plus a short video. Smile

It's so fun to watch animals grow! We have a family of deer that hang around. The mother had two fawns last year. I'm sad that they're not as little anymore but I still love watching them. The mother breaks my heart though as one of her back legs is severely broken ( it's been that way for a few years now ). sad

I love the bird sound effects on the video. Smile Nice touch!

Oh that poor deer! Does it look like her leg has healed improperly? I don't think I can ever watch Bambi again now.

Yes it definatly looks like it hasn't healed properly sad I'd imagine it would be hard for it to heal since they're always on the go and can't really get help. She hardly touches it to the ground at all ( its really sad watching her in the winter months). However, I've seen her run a few times and you'd never know anything was wrong. She can really move!
