WDWFG Superlatives: What do you most look forward to?

What's that activity, meal, ride, etc. that you most look forward to on your Disney trips?

Tough one! I think I most look forward to getting on the first ride--doesn't matter if it's Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear... whatever. I just love knowing that my vacation has finally begun!

Two things... Both are based more on tradition than "wow factor"...

1) We usually go to Chef Mickey's the first night, and that is the true sign that we are THERE!!!!
2) The first walk through the Magic Kingdom where you can quickly go through Pirates and the Haunted Mansion.

I have so many wonderful memories of being at WDW, and the Magic Kingdom walk floods my brain with memories and good times.

This has definitely changed for me over the years. I used to anticipate our traditional dinner at 'Ohana and our first ride on Splash Mountain, but our traditions have morphed and changed. Now I simply anticipate walking into each park for the first time. The themeing is so overwhelming, even if you've been there dozens of times.

I usually anticipate whatever our first meal is.

I think I most look forward to that moment when you're all settled in. You've dealt with all the stressful stuff and you're about to head out (usually to MK for us). You have the whole trip ahead of you and you're feeling relaxed. That's the high point. It's all downhill from there. silly

I can tell you one of the WORST moments. Its that midway point when you realize you've actually been there longer than you have left! mad

So true! Though in my upcoming trip my half-way point for the vacation is actually when we leave Disney!

I think the thing I most look forward to is that MOMENT on the first day when I realize I haven't thought about anything "real world" for a while and I just don't care that I haven't! It's vacation and it's all good! Well, that and Boma.

The only time the half way point isn't a downer is when I'm leaving WDW for DCL!

Thats a pretty good trade off!

That's one fun thing about switching resorts mid trip too. You can just decide your Pop Century trip is over, but your Coronado Springs trip is just beginning!

Definitely have to agree with this. That horrible depression sets in...your vacation is more than halfway over... gaah

I'll second that. We've made decisions on whether to do a trip based on what ADRs we could get. silly

I look forward to the chance to sleep in. I say chance, because I rarely do...there's too much to do!

I find we have good luck going to bed early and getting up and doing stuff in the mornings. People have a tendency to be unable to get up early, so we can get a lot done while people are dragging their kids out of bed. Then once all the crowds get there, we go to lunch, relax somewhere, have dinner and then go to bed early. Relaxing and you get way more bang for you time.

Not very original, I know, but my favorite is when you first step into the Magic Kingdom. The flood of sight and sounds and memories...it really is magical.

Do you generally go to the MK first?

It is my favorite overall. It wins out just for my fond memories of Disneyland. Time before last I went to MK first and last biggrin

I would have to say our first sit-down dinner. I don't drink very much when I'm not on vacation, so settling into the restaurant with that glass of wine or margarita--knowing I have my whole vacation in front of me--is soooooo nice.

That IS a nice time. Usually, the first day is full of travel, getting to the hotel, waiting until the room is ready, riding a couple of rides. Then when you finally get to sit at a table with a drink and relax, you can finally exhale. mickey
