Wishes

The Wishes fireworks display is one of my favourite memories from Disney. Does anyone know if the show they have now is still the same one as 3 or 4 years ago? On one hand while I am looking forward to seeing what new stuff has been added since I was last there, Wishes is one thing I hope will have stayed the same Smile

Hey Peg!

Yep, Wishes is still the same. This year they've added a show BEFORE Wishes called The Magic, The Memories, and You, where they take photopass pictures taken throughout the day and incorporate them into a projection show on the castle. You can read more about it here: http://www.wdwforgrownups.com/articles/magic-memories-and-you-premiere-pictures-and-video

This was our Wishes Cruise we just did Pego. You may want to turn down the volume and let the video load first before watching it through.

Nice video Smile It's odd seeing just how high up the fireworks are - you can't really tell so much from in front of the castle. They look much closer to the castle than they really are from that angle for some reason.

It's really interesting to see them from angles. You realize that some of the fireworks are WAY back there.

Ohh how I heart Wishes..I am glad that it has stayed the same! Ending a night at MK wouldn't be the same without it.

I wonder how much longer it will be the MK show. I hear rumors every once in a while about them changing it.

Great vid MrHub! I would love to do a "backstage tour" where they let you go back into that wooded area behind MK and help them set up the Wishes fireworks. Would be very cool.

I wouldn't worry. I think there would be more of a build-up before they changed it. They probably would have announced it at the big media event in January.

Excellent Smile Ordinarily I love seeing new changes to the Disney parks, but Wishes is one of the few things that I hope never changes! Although I'm sure whatever new firework display Disney came up with would be equally impressive.

Maybe it will be enhanced in some way? After all, it's the 40th anniversary year, and the actual anniversary hits in October. They seem to have one foot in the past and one foot in the future as a result Smile

Or the old Alien Encounter - Stich's Great Escape switch. Sigh. I loved Alien Encounter!

Ah, so you were the one! Actually I never saw it so I have no opinion on it, but I haven't heard of many who loved it before.

I LOVED the old one. It was scary and fun. When my family went when I was 12, it was actually on everyone's top 4 attraction list. So much fun!

I'll say this as well: I don't know many people who like "Stitch's Great Escape" any better.

Alien Encounter was pretty terrifying (in a good way). Potentially the scariest ride in Disney I reckon! Stitch's Great Escape is just annoying and quite dull. This may be the "WHY DID YOU GET RID OF ALIEN ENCOUNTER?!" part of me making me determined to hate Stitch's Great Escape regardless though.

Stitch must be utterly forgettable. I remember Alien being scary, and I'm pretty sure I've done Stitch, but all I have is a vague recollection of the similarities. Wonder if there are any that really love Stitch? I suppose there's someone who loves everything. I, for instance, will cry and picket if they EVER close the People Mover (or whatever it's called nowadays. It will always be the Wedway People Mover to me Smile )
