Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort?

Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort. Opinions?
While staying on property seems super fun I think out family does better with more space than 2 queen beds. We ha a great experience at the sheraton lake buena vista but we want to try something new. 2 adults. 2 kids. Anyone stay at this hotel before? I understand there is no housekeeping. What else can you tell me?

I can't speak for the hotel on the Wyndham Bonnet Creek property, but we stayed at the timeshare resort in 2010. It consists of several mid- and high-rise buildings, all very new and quite nice, and has spacious pools, a small lazy river, a fitness room, and other amenities. We had a two-bedroom unit with full kitchen and living room, and it was all quite spacious, modern, and well equipped. As of 2010 the resort's bus service, while not as convenient as the Disney transportation system, was far better than at any other timeshare resort we've stayed at in Orlando. There are several bus stops, and buses go to and from the parks every 30 to 40 minutes. (Each bus goes to more than one destination; we got on one that went to both MK and AK.) Because the buildings are mid-rise or higher, parking can be an issue. They have parking garages, but you might have to walk a distance to get from your car to your building, especially if you arrive late. But since it's on Disney property, getting around is fairly easy by car and even using their bus system. As at most timeshare resorts, there's no daily housekeeping, although there may be a midweek linens exchange, I don't recall. But yes, if you want your bed made every day, you'll have to make it yourself.

One warning - DO NOT agree to sit through the timeshare sales pitch. I don't care what they offer you. We were told at check-in that it would only take 90 minutes and they'd give us a gift card worth more than enough to take us and our two guests out for dinner. Well, the presentation took more than twice as long as they'd promised and ate well into our plans for the day. And the salesman was pushy and refused to take no for an answer. Every time I thought we were done, he'd walk us to another building to show us how wonderful it was. And when he finally gave up, he acted as if we'd just run over his dog. We did get the gift card, but frankly, I would've rather paid out of pocket for dinner that evening. Besides, if you want to buy a non-Disney timeshare, you should buy resale. All the timeshares we own were resales, and we paid a very small fraction of what the resort would've charged us.

But if you want more space at non-Disney prices, Bonnet Creek would be a good choice.

I think we have decided to do sheraton vistana vilages. I will never sit through a time share pitch. no amount of $ is worth my time. We plan to unplug the hotel room phone!

I am glad that you have made your decision. But I have to give my opinion on the Wyndham Grand Orlando Bonnet Creek.

We were offered a 4 day 3 night stay for $199. Perfect! I was trying to save money on a January trip so that I could save my DVC points for a larger Villa for my 40th bday. This takes care of 3 night!

But I declined, and they offered less, and I declined and this went on, over the phone, until they were at $99. Yes, 4 days and 3 nights for $99. I'm in.

We did have to sit through the presentation, which was 120 minutes, just as they said it would be. Thankfully it didn't go longer than that. DH would have gotten up and left at the 120 mark.

It is a gorgeous resort! Beautiful! But not Disney. Everyone, kids included, hung around the resort all dressed up. We would go through in our jeans and Disney shirts and looked so out of place. Not all restaurants are open every day in January. They offered to seat us in the lobby at one restaurant, that we were clearly under dressed for. They said they were full, but all the tables were empty and the other folks in the lobby were sitting in the bar area. Whatever.

Parking in the parking garage was $13/day. And the Disney bus was running maybe 6 times a day to each resort. It was the last week of January, so maybe that's why. We have AP's, so parking at the park was just fine. Even though we much prefer to take Disney transportation.

We were in the hotel portion, they didn't even show us the time share section. I guess they want us to buy first then check it out later.

The room was beautiful, big, view of the pool. We had the smallest room there though, but for $99 for 3 nights who can complain?

We were not happy staying offsite. We have gotten so spoiled being inside the Disney "bubble" as I see it called sometimes. DH has told me that no matter what the deal is, I am to say NO unless it is a Disney resort.

After our 3 nights there, we moved over to CBR for the last 5 nights and felt so much weight was off our shoulders.

We did get a $75 gift card and $100 off a one night stay at a Wyndham resort in the future just for sitting through their presentation.

Thanks for the info! I totally get wanting to be in the disney bubble. I like that but the hubby needs breaks from it. We also can't really do 4 people in 1 room. The kids drive us bonkers! Lol
