I was watching the latest "Ultimate Walt Disney World 2013" on YouTube this evening and at the very end they announced what is in store for Animal Kingdom. It's official that Avatar is coming....I don't know if anyone confirmed this before when I posted about the possibility. Anyone know if they discussed this at D23 Expo?

They have started to get all the characters out of Camp Minnie-Mickey with Minnie and Mickey being the first out. They have started to build something on the river behind Tusker House. Not sure if that is relevant with Avatarland.
That's where the Lion King Show is moving to Mandy - it's a new theater.

Oh, my bad. When I originally posted the question about it coming to AK, most responses were "Really?" or "I hope they do not do that, it isn't Disney!" From responses I just inferred the project was being talked about at that time and nothing was confirmed. Guess I should check Disney facts before posting.

Honestly... When I think about avatar land, it doesnt feel that apealing to me. However, I know Disney and I'm sure they are going to make it awesome. I heard James Cameron Signed on for 3 more Avatar movies, so it will all be coming out at the same time. Looking forward to watching it unfold and finding out more info as it comes available 
Ok I know this is kind of an old post, and this is a stupid question........but Avatar as in the movie with the blue people?? I admit the very first thing I thought of was Avatar the Last Airbender!

I think they are waiting for the new Festival of The Lion King theater to be done to completely close Camp Minnie-Mickey. That's the main thing that's there right now. Minnie and Mickey have been moved, now it's time for Festival to move. I think they want the festival to be down as little as possible since it is a favorite for many.

I remember when test track was in its original state. I remember waiting 40 mins or more to ride it wow has it changed
The Disney Blog just posted the illustrations for the park. I have to admit, they look pretty cool. They described some attractions too.
The boat ride thru the luminous forest is amazing...in one of the pics..tiny in the upper sky corner, is a flying dragon.....perhaps the dragon they had fly over The Beasts Castle will return? I so want to see it!!!

Thanks for sharing Mase! I'm kind of iffy on this new land because I don't see why Disney just didn't build the land they were originally going to build there. But I'll wait and see how it turns out.
I love Avatar! If they can truly capture the beauty of what Pandora was in the movie, I think it will be amazing!

WDI will do an amazing job at bringing Pandora to life and telling the story. I don't know if I'm sold on it just yet. I probably should watch Avatar.

Its pretty good. Super long, and only going to get longer with 3 sequels planned, but its definitely worth the viewing.
