Columbus Day Day Trip (aka I walked 6 miles for a pin!)

This was the plan for our Columbus Day Passholde Pin Mad Dash:

1. Leave by 9 am (We left at 8:40!)
2. Get to HS by 10:30 am (made it by 10:20!)
3. Check the 5 & 10 store for the Vampire Mickey Passholder pin* (they said they sold out on saturday!! Rats.)
4. Slinky Dog FP 9:55 - 10:55 (Completed!! Standby was 120 min!!)
5. Star Tours FP 10:55 - 11:55 (skipped and instead walked over to Epcot to see if they had the pin. Took 25 minutes to walk. Checked Mousegears and they had no idea but said to check with the Pin Central kiosk right outside Mouse gears. We did and I found 2!! The CM had them in a drawer and said those were the last 2 he had! I was shocked he had any! I got 2)
6. Rock n Roller Coaster FP 12:15 - 1:15 (Done! Standby was 135 min- single rider line was nuts too)
7. Grab a Joffrey's Frozen Cappuccino and head home no later than 1 pm. (Got Joffreys and out by 12:45. Be home by 2:20).

* If they don't have the pin at HS we walk or take the boat to Epcot/Mousegears in lieu of riding Star Tours. If we have time do Rock N Roller Coaster and then head out. (This was exactly what ended up happening. Woo!)

I can't believe it all worked! Pics to follow. HS was absolutely insane. Packed and long stand bus just about everywhere. It was mostly overcast so the walk to Epcot was nice. It started raining right as we left the HS lot to head home. Didn't last long though.

A totally epic adventure!! Mission accomplished and a blast Smile My phone says 14,000+ steps /5.9 miles. Ha!

I was shocked that TSMM standby was 190 minutes!! This was roughly 10:40 am. Slinky Dog wasn't much better and the line wrapped out and around towards the front.

Yikes! The crowds sound awful but glad you had a good time and were able to secure your pin!

Tower of Terror stand by was 135 minutes at 12:30. Wrapped around towards Rock N Roller entrance. Busiest we've seen Hollywood Studios in a long long time. Even though it was a holiday weekend Orlando area kids still had school, so I was a little surprised at the crowds. Thank goodness for FPs. No waits more than 5 minutes.

On the plus side with the overcast skies the walk from HS to Epcot was really pleasant. A little wonky because of the gondola and bus depot construction at HS but once past that it was nice. Took us 25 minutes from the gates of HS to the international Gateway.
