Disney VIP Tour

Saw this on CNN and Disney was the first VIP tour "worth the $" on the list. Here is the article.

I honestly did not know this existed and surely did not know it would cost $315 per hour. You do get to skip all the lines though. Wonder if they charge a minimum on hours. I could knock out all the major attractions in an hour with this tour! Smile

I do believe there is a six hour minimum for the VIP tour. This is from Disney's site:

"All VIP Tours have a minimum duration of 6 continuous hours. Your party may include up to 10 people. Parties larger than 10 will require more than one VIP Tour Guide and an additional fee."

After taxes you're talking over $2,000 for the VIP tour eek eek

I'm pretty sure we saw a family with a VIP tour guide when we were there in October. I don't know how you would be able to justify that expense on top of the rest of the trip! eek

I knew about this. Which is why I was appalled that people are hiring folks in wheelchairs in an attempt to cut lines - I knew there was a legitimate option for people with money who didn't want to wait in line with the unwashed masses (i.e., the rest of us).

I've read and heard various things about the VIP service. I think it's one of those "the more $ you have, the more you get" type of thing. Then again, I guess everything is like that come to think of it.

The "standard" VIP service gets you into any fast-pass line whenever you like. If you want a photo with Mickey, they'll take you to him or you'll get a "hang on while I page him for you". Stuff like that.

But, for the highest level of "special" VIP, you are whisked in through back doors, under steam pipes and directly onto whatever seat you want of whatever ride you want. You don't even know there's a line up nor do you see it. Now THAT is the ultimate.

If you throw a ton of money at Disney, they will accommodate pretty much any request.

One Disney tour guide we had told us that the Grand Floridian will do anything for Saudi Sheikhs when they visit. He said they typically take an entire floor or wing of the hotel. They want certain color on the wall? No problem, it's painted for them. Want certain type of food? No problem, it's taken care of. And he basically said they don't ever stand in line for ANYTHING. That's also taken care of.

At the right price, you could probably dine in the ballroom at the Haunted Mansion! How cool would that be? Ghost

Allie its called "Having more money then you know what to to with it". Yes we have seen several of these type of tours going by at times.

Ken, Opra also takes the entire top floor of the Grand when she is there also.

Ok, seriously? An entire hotel floor? Why would someone need that? That's insane!

Well, there is no joke that money talks for sure. Everything has a price.

We found that out this trip when they opened up a closed shop for us at DHS. Smile Of course, I am sure they wanted us to buy the $65,000 Walt Disney coat that was in there, but no chance! haha

I was told that the Guest Relations cast that are trained in the tours usually just give the VIP Tour to regular families more then they do for Celebrities. But its shocking how many families actually do it. I see GR taking a ton of VIPs backstage to make the trip from one attraction to another much quicker. You'd be surprised how much faster it is to go back stage to get from A to B.

Being in the candlelight processional for four years gave me a "behind the scenes" look at EPCOT. Behind "America" is where we would report and they have giant tents set up for rehearsal, dinner, etc. It was very DISAPPOINTING to see it all. It looks nothing like inside the park and I hated seeing it. Part of the magic is waiting in line, as silly as that sounds! Even if I had the $$ for the VIP tour, I would not do it. I enjoy seeing the ride ques. It's no fun to go behind the scenes to ride everything!

I LOVE seeing all the behind the scenes stuff. Can't get enough! I like seeing how Disney works.
