Epcot Wind Down...thoughts??

Today is our 180 mark! We made most of our ADRs this morning with no issue so couldn't me more thrilled especially since we were able to get a table at Be Our Guest! We are traveling with other family and were considering doing Epcot Wind Down one night. I know this is relatively new so I'm not sure if anyone here has had a chance to partake as of yet. Seems like a decent deal considering but was hoping someone who has had the chance to go may shed some light for the rest of us. Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to chime in!

I haven't gone myself but there are a couple reviews on the Disney Food Blog mickey

The reviews I've read/heard have all made it sound pretty awesome! I think it would be worth the money, especially if you do it on a non-EMH night so that you can't take advantage of some extra time in the World Showcase as an added benefit.

These days Walt Disney World doesn't offer a lot in the way of activity after the Parks close. The Epcot wind down seems to be a fantastic way to extend your evening with a bite to eat and a cocktail on the way back to your hotel room. An added bonus - you avoid the crush of people leaving the park after Illuminations. I haven't experienced it yet - but it is absolutely on my to do list if they extend it past summer. Head on over to the DFB and do a quick search on their site for the reviews so far.

Sometimes I hang out at WS way after closing to see the inferno barge blow-off and that costs nothing. I wonder if they will clear the park quickly after closing. Otherwise, you are really paying to eat somewhere after park close.

That said, I would still do it if they were offering it when I am there.

My biggest concern would be transportation - would the resort buses still be running after the wind down? If not, it's not really something we could do unless we had a car or were staying at an Epcot resort.

I know the buses run till the last guest is out of the park so maybe, like with Hoop De Doo Revue, they'll put on a few select buses that will stop at multiple resorts to ensure on site guests get home? Disney wouldn't dream of leaving a guest behind and I've rarely heard of an on site guest not being able to get back to their resort!

So after reading this thread, I checked out the dates for the Epcot Wind Down and they have been offered into September. If I remember correctly, it was only into August when this was first announced. So, I booked it for the Thursday night at Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar. I think it will be cool to slowly walk back to the Boardwalk after having a drink and snack after Illuminations. biggrin

I never saw the cost, or is there any? I saw which places were staying open, but I agree about the concern regarding the busses still running. I don't want to walk back to the Coronado and a taxi isn't in our budget!

It's $35 per person
