Guess what was waiting for me..... DVC Members Help Requested

when I got home last night... yay mickey

I've been away on business out of country for the last month, so what a surprise last night when I came home to see this sitting on the Kitchen Island waiting for me.. clapping yeah

(Notice the names on the magicbands.... rolling awesome )

I'm super pumped about going to the 20th Annual Food & Wine Festival this year. I've heard great things about the food and drink and the new special events and new food booths. I know where I'm heading first..... Can anyone guess?? biggrin

Anyway, 20 sumpin' days to go.. I'm also very excited about taking the Magical Disney Express. It'll be our first time..
Obviously, we are looking forward to our stay at Boardwalk Villas.. It'll be our first stay at BWV, let alone any of the Disney Deluxe resorts... Can't wait!!! yay

This leads me into my DVC Members question... I've been doing much research on BWV and it's layout. I really want the ideal room for me and the wife and I think I found it, or at least a grouping of them... How do I go about requesting this particular room or even grouping (any of these will do) with Disney? Is that even something one can do? Who should I contact? Do I have to put a request in through the DVC member that made the reservation for me, or can I handle this on my own? Thanks for any and all help you might provide.

You can only make one very general request online (1st floor, close to elevator, etc.) - what you need to do, with no guaranty of success, is contact the room assigner at the resort, approx two weeks before arrival and make your request. It helps if its a special occasion trip. Follow up as soon as you arrive at the resort at check in and let them know you made the request and are willing to wait for the room you want. Again, no guaranty of success.

Good luck and have fun.

I think you will go to anything with BEER first LOL!!!! I hope you have a wonderful time, I wish I had time to get down there again for at least one more day, DURING THE WEEK! I missed a ton because of crowds.

If you go to MDE and into online check in, you can make 2 choices. I have picked upper floor and Sunrise Savannah for our DVC room at AKL. But as The Colonel said, call ahead also and make more detailed requests. Also as he said, you may wait a bit for your exact request if available. But that gives you time to roam and explore!

Can't wait to hear all about your trip!

Woot! Have a kick butt time!

In the past I have made my room requests through member services. You can do it online, somewhat but the selection options are very limited.

Colonel,

Thanks for the tip. I will definitely call two weeks out. It actually is a special occasion trip for my wife and I. Our 20 year anniversary of meeting each other. We met at a Halloween party at my place at college, we hit it off that night, and the rest was HISTORY!! date

I'll keep y'all posted on how the room hunt is going. Thanks again.. awesome

How was that crispy pork belly? I never got around to it, although I meant to.

Awe man, and I love that porkbelly. It was a little dry this year. Hoping it was "first" day issues and yours is excellent!!!
