Hi Everyone! So glad to be here!

Hello, everyone! I'm Florence and I'm a former WDW Entertainment CM (2002-2006) who still loves anything and everything Disney. I've worked in all four WDW Parks and several WDW Resorts and I miss it dearly. In the last 4 and half years, my DD and I have been to DL twice and WDW 3 times (and DD is only 4 years old!) laugh Oh, and I have been a DVC member since 2011 and I LOVE it!

What I love most about Disney are the restaurants, the Characters (of course Wink) and most recently I've become addicted again to pin trading (after a 9 year hiatus!)

Family and friends always ask me for planning advice for their next Disney trip, and I am always happy to answer questions for them.. But there are tons of things at Disney I have yet to experience and I love that I can find something new and exciting on every trip Smile

So glad to be in the company of fellow Disney friends! muchlove

Hi, Miss Mikki. Thanks for the welcome!

As far as my role, it really varied week to week. I participated in Character greetings (in all parks and many restaurants) and various parades (MK, MGM and DAK - it was still MGM studios at the time). An occasional corporate event here and there. It was a lot of fun Smile

Hi Vettelover! Thanks for the welcome!

Hmm.. I have so many Disney food favorites.. But the first ones that come to mind are:

-Bobotie at Boma in Animal Kingdom Lodge
-Pistachio Creme Brulee at Tony's Town Square Restaurant
-Mango shooter from Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party (does anyone know in what restaurant this can be found?)
-Disney fudge (especially Maple Walnut)
-Oh and Ramune lychee soda from the Japan Pavillion in Epcot (Does that count?? Smile)
-lots more.. I'm sure I'll remember them later and daydream about them... Wink

Great - Now I'm really hungry for some Disney food! laugh

Hello and thank you, disneydoc!

Yes, I was fortunate enough to work there, and now I can play there every year with my DD (well, actually it will be two times this year - Jan 2013, yes we just got back a few weeks ago.. and next in Aug 2013... Can't wait! I'm making ADRs as we speak!)

Glad I found this forum to talk about Disney, as sometimes my friends and co-workers look at me like I have 10 heads everytime I mention Disney... laugh

Yes, same here with my coworkers and my Disney adventures. I go 3 times a year, and they just shake their heads. (and I went 4 times in 2012, but am calming down to 3 now that I have DVC pts). mickey

Hello and thank you, mrhub!

I'm happy to answer as many questions as I can (without spoiling the Magic, of course) Smile

And I do feel "at home" - Thank you everyone for the warm welcome.

LOVE IT!! Who do you go with and where do you stay?

You know, I have a relative who works for an airline, so technically, I could fly solo down to MCO any weekend I want... but then my DD would never speak to me again..

I think I'm ok with 2 times a year. For now Wink

What is your home resort? What is your favorite park? Let us know what ADRs you made for your next trip. We love to talk about Disney food.

Hi Jess, JeffC, 2cats, JoAnn and Nancy!! Thanks for the welcome! Smile

JoAnn, I thought you'd never ask Wink

My home resort is BLT and my fave park is Epcot. I haven't finished making ADRs yet, but this week I'll be making them for Cape May Cafe character breakfast, Liberty Tree or Crystal Palace dinner, 50's Prime Time, 1900 Park Fare character dinner, Tusker House character lunch, and Epcot I'm undecided so maybe Rose and Crown (I really want to try a Scotch Egg and bubble and squeak!) and Tutto Italia.. or maybe just Le Cellier... (planning on doing DDP for the first time) or maybe Garden Grill.. Haha.. decisions, decisions!

I would love to go back to Boma or try Sanaa or Brown Derby or Coral Reef, but my choices are mostly geared toward my 4yo DD who eats 2 bites of one chicken tender and says she's full Sad We'll see...

Nancy... Ramune is the name brand of this Japanese soda and they have tons of different fun flavors like Pineapple, Strawberry, Peach, Orange, Lychee, etc. It comes in a glass bottle with a marble in the sealed cap. To open the seal, you take this little plastic piece, place it on the top of the bottle and slam your hand down to release the marble and open the bottle for drinking. If it sounds confusing, now you know how I felt sitting my resort room trying to follow the instructions on the bottle to open it! But if you would like to drink it right away, the nice Cast Member at the register will offer to open it for you Smile

Oh, and I did have dinner at BOG in January! I made my ADR on August 23, 2012 for dinner on January 9, 2013. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, the presentation was amazing, the Charles de Fere sparkling wine was delicious, the salad trio was to die for, but I have to say my Sauteed Shrimp and Scallops was lacking in flavor. Service was amazing, the grey stuff was delicious and my DD cleaned her plate of pasta and marinara, so overall it was a good experience. Here's a photo of my dinner and wine:

I was a CM (Rose and Crown, food & beverage, Epcot world showcase 91/92) so I totally get that you can't be specific about your role in character greetings because we learnt in orientation at the Disney University that all the characters are real, which we all know is true on this board anyway awesome but were there any characters that you particularly liked or worked with regularly wink

All I can say is Winnie the Pooh holds a special place in my heart. Pooh always loves seeing friends at Crystal Palace, and I'm sure he misses playing with Eeyore and Tigger in the old Toontown fair. Chip and Dale are such troublemakers, but they're also very sweet and playful. Suzy and Perla are not seen in the parks often, but they always loved dancing around Cinderella's float in the Share a Dream Come True parade, sewing with their needle and thread...

muchlove

Hi Kris1971! I'm glad I found you all, too!

My fave rides are actually the calm, relaxing ones: TTA Peoplemover, Carousel of Progress, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and It's a Small World Smile oh and now I can add Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid to my list since I officially rode it just a few weeks ago!

Of course, I always love me some Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin and Toy Story Midway Mania. But then again, who doesn't?

Hi and welcome Florence! Can't wait to hear all about your upcoming trip and am looking forward to your perspective on things, being a former CM. Do you have any other favorite resorts besides BCV?
