Magical HooneyMoon September Trip Report: Day Five MNSSHP

muchlove yay
So it is almost time to start booking ADR's super excited! I am desperately waiting for them to release the dates for MNSSHP! I need the dates so I can figure what to do that day and not to book anything for that night! But here is what I have so far.

September 9th
Flight
6:30 am from Manchester, NH
Arriving at 9:35 in Orlando
Take Magical Express to Resort, currently undecided on Resort. Will know when they release the fall deals

I don't think we will be able to check into our room yet. But I want to get our Honeymoon buttons. Then we will probably head to a park at this point and will most likely be hungry so grab some lunch. I am thinking Epcot for our first day as we both love this park. It will also be a Friday so I am sure MK will be busy.

My plan for this night to officially kick off our honeymoon is to do a romantic dinner at the California Grill at the time of the Fireworks! Which I am hoping they will be having that night. According to some calendars I have looked it, wishes, and the electrical parade aren't going on the entire time we are there, but I am hoping that is not the case!

Then depending on how we feel considering we would have to get up at 3:30 am that morning we may do the Monorail Crawl, but if we are tired we will head back to the resort and to bed.

September 10th
Animal is opening early this day so we will head out early to get there for opening. We usually run right to the back and get on the Safari ride and I haven't ever had a problem getting right on. So probably going to save my Fast Pass Plus choices for Mount Everest, Dinosaur, and not sure on the third one.
We will probably eat at the QS place in the Dinosaur area, we like that place and I can have gluten free options here.
Then we probably walk around the park take out time and see things, probably catch the Festival of the Lion King at it's new location. Then have dinner at Rainforest Cafe, one of my favorites, and the only thing that my fiance has requested that we do so far. Then I haven't decided if I want to do Rivers of Light this night or another night. So it is either going to be Rivers of Light or doing the Monorail crawl depending on if we did it the first night or not.

September 11th
Hollywood Studios is open early this day.
Fast Passes will be ToT, Rockin Roller Coaster, and TSM.
This will be another laid back day walking around checking things out. We don't really do any of the shows. Maybe Indiana Jones, and I do like the Muppets. This might be a half day here depending on what is going on. We might take the boat back to Epcot and enjoy the rest of the day there.
This is also a possible MNSSHP night so we cans spend a half day here and then go back to the room to get ready for MNSSHP.
If it is the party night, my plan is to get in line right away for Jack and Sally, visit other characters. Watch the Hocus Pocus Show, do the second parade, then do the Fireworks and then ride the rides the rest of the night, hopefully get to ride the Mine Train. I am super upset because they moved the Refurb date for Big Thunder Mountain to August- November so now it will be closed during out time there!

September 12th
Magic Kingdom Day
Fast Passes: Mine Train, Splash Mountain, not sure on third one yet, maybe do the parade fast pass.
This is my favorite park plan on checking everything out riding the rides multiple times.
Eat at a quick Service for lunch.
This day I am unsure about doing BOG for Dinner or doing this day for the Hoop Dee Doo Review! It is going to be a surprise for Adam, I just found out they will do Gluten Free options for me.

September 13th
Epcot! Adam's favorite Park
Fast Passes: Soarin, Test Track, Probably Norway ride as its new and probably busy!
Hoping to do the Drink Around the World this day! I want to take in some of the shows and really check out World Showcase. Dinner at the Garden Grill. This park is open late that night so we will hope to hide rides multiple times!
This day might also be a trip to Disney Springs in the morning and then hitting Epcot as its open later. I really want to try some things at Disney Spring and check things out as we haven't done much of that before and there is lots of new things added.

September 14th
Undecided at this point the schedule for this day is not up.

September 15th
Undecided

September 16th
Undecided

September 17th
Last day!
So we will mostly be hitting anything we didn't get to do and want to do!

September 18th
Sleeping in for a bit. Checking out and taking the Tragical Express to Orlando Airport
Flight leaves at 11:45 arrive in Manchester airport at 2:25.

So that is what I have so far, we are definitely doing the Fantasmic dinner package and we definitely want to do the Rivers of Light, just haven't decided on those days yet, and I want to do dinner at BOG just haven't decided on those nights yet. Adam also wants to go to Universal for one day, though I am up in the air about it. I don't do big roller coasters usually. The Rockin Roller Coaster is my one exception.

Very exciting for you! biggrin

I believe The Nights of Joy are planned for your first weekend so there will probably not be any fireworks at MK until later on the Friday and Saturday night.

Sounds great. Unless something has changed, you won't be able to pick Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Toy Story Midway Mania as they are both tier one. Same thing with Soarin' and Test Track.

Oh darn! I just checked and it does say it is the 9th-10th. So I will have to move California Grill to another night, because I definitely want to eat during the fireworks. Hoping because it is our honeymoon we will get a really nice table!

Thanks, I will try to take lots of pictures, I am getting an actual camera to take with us other than our phones, I want to save the batteries for the Disney Parks app in case we need to change fast passes and such. But I am sure they will be no where near as good as your photos!

I looked them up and they say fast pass plus can be made 60 days in advanced. What does tier one mean? This is fist time using magic bands and fast pass plus options so not sure on everything yet.

Yes! I am super excited. Only 5 more days until I can start doing dining reservations. Really wish they would come out with the MNSSHP dates soon! Putting a dent in my plans without those days! lol

Hollywood Studios and Epcot both have tiered systems. You can pick one FastPass from the Tier One attractions and two FastPass from Tier Two. Soarin and Test Track are both Tier One attractions so you can't pick both in your initial three reservations. Same with Toy Story Midway Mania and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, these are both Tier One attractions.

For MNSSHP, we went on the first night last year which was Tuesday, September 15th. The next party was on the Friday night and then I believe Sunday night, if that helps with your tentative plans.

Oh awesome! That is good news! I haven't heard of Night of Joy so I was unsure what it was.

So adding to a couple more days.

September 14th
Magic Kingdom is open until 12am this night so probably sleeping in getting breakfast somewhere possibly and then maybe heading to a water park. My fiance has never been to a water park and he really wants to go to either Blizzard Beach or Typhon Lagoon while we are there. Then hit Magic Kingdom after we go there.

September 15th
Epcot is open early this day and it is also the second day of food and wine. So we are going to hit food and wine and get some yummy delicious things to eat!

September 16th
This day might end up being a day at Universal if he still wants to go. Then come back and do our Fantasmic dining at Mama Melrose and Fantasmic, but not totally sure I can fit this all in one day.

This is all just planning out, so might have to do some switching and all depending on when the party is. There is a lot of adult things that I want to do on this trip, but I also want to relax a little bit as its out Honeymoon.

Any good breakfast places? I noticed I don't have any real breakfast places except grabbing some at the QS in the Resort. We are deciding between Port Orleans Riverside and Saratoga Spring unless Wilderness goes on sale. And I am allergic to gluten and wheat.

Ok so I checked out on the days that the magic kingdom is closing early, looks like the 11th, 13th and possibly the 16th. So I figured if the first one is on the 11th, its going to be crowded because its the first one, on top of that is a Sunday so it may be crowded because of that too. So I am opting to go to the Tuesday one, hoping that is actually a day now. I added in some food choices that I am looking forward too as well as some drinks!

And I still haven't picked any breakfast places. And I am still up in the air about going to Universal. I am just not sure its worth the $300 for us to get in for one day, as well as the additional food and souvenirs that we would be getting. And its also taking time away from my much needed Disney time, I haven't been in three years and who knows when we will get to go again after this, so I am not sure I want to go at this point. Oh and they also changed the California Grill menu! There was a whole menu dedicated to Gluten Free and now its not on there anymore. I am sure this is a seasonal effect and it might change again for the fall season.
Also we rarely stay at one park the entire day, so the few we are at a park an entire day might not actually happen we might come back and finish the park at another time. But this is all preliminary anyways! Get to start booking ADR's on Sunday! Yay!

What funny pictures are you doing in Epcot???

We like to do the one in MK Tomorrowland where they put your face in the movie posters. We have PotC, Indiana Jones and Star Wars so far!

It is the ones after the Figment ride. They have all kinds to choose from we made it a tradition to do one since 2009. I didn't have that one on the computer my mom has the hard copy its the hitch hicking ghosts and we got to make silly scared faces in the photo it was hilarious! 2011 wasn't as funny they only had plain ones or the same from the one before. But in 2013 we found another Haunted Mansion on. So me and Adam did it. The girl had a super heavy Spanish accent and we didn't understand that my mom could have been on one of the statue faces!!!! It would have been even better if we had understood! They had ToT as well I think we might do that one this trip!
Oh and I forgot to add that I HAVE to go to Memento Mori and do the lenticular picture there! And everything else HM.

I bet!!! I have a lot of it from the Disney store. But a Haunted Mansion Dooney and Bourke might be on my list!!!

Ok so just booked California Grill the only times I could get close to the fireworks was 7:40 and 8:55. So I choose the 7:40 I think 1hr and 20 minutes isn't too unreasonable for dinner. Especially because I plan on getting dessert as well. And I got to add my dirty restrictions too so that was cool.

So my first hiccup, I was unable to get a good time for Fantasmic for Sunday the 11th. So I had to change plans for that day. The only time I could get was 3:10 and that is just too early for us to eat, and I really wanted to try to QS because they have lots of GF items.
I am kind of second guessing doing Animal Kingdom on Saturday the 10th too. My thought is because it is a Saturday it may be really busy as well as opening early. And this to me is the park with the least amount of shaded area, I'm not 100% I can do the entire day here. I might split it up and do two half days at Animal Kingdom. Any suggestions here?

September 11th

Hollywood Studios is open early this day/ Half Day Epcot
Fast Passes HS:
Toy Story Mania

Fast Passes: Epcot
Soarin

Lunch: ABC Commissary, Or Backlot Express
Dinner: Garden Grill at 5:15pm

Chicken Club with GF roll at ABC
Royal Guard Burger on GF Roll and Corellian Spice Fries

I noticed that you have different fast passes for two different parks. Remember your original 3 fastpasses can only be from one park at a time. When you're finished with those, then you can try and get another fast pass at another park (but Soarin will probably be unavailable as a FP as that point).

Yeah, I am just putting the fast passes for my top picks of what I want. I know Toy Story Mania is pretty popular so if I am unable to get it for that day I will go with Soarin' instead. I didn't know that though so that is good, I would have been trying to book them and it would have been what the heck! I didn't know about the tiered things either. Magic Bands and Fast Pass Plus a whole new things for me. They just were getting the kiosks going when I was there last in April 2013.

Updated. So after speaking with a cast member who assured me that if the fall deals come out I can call and get it applied to my room, I officially booked. I booked with POR and called and room requested an Alligator Bayou room.
But if something comes up for cheaper, when fall deals come out I might switch resorts, which I was assured would be easy to do. So now I was able to book all dining except the coveted BOG dinner reservation mad I will have to keep trying to get that one. And the fast passed I have listed are just my picks as a reminder, I now know about the tiered things and such.

Ok so a pretty reliable website released the dates for MNSSHP, so I am good with sticking to the 13th! And I am happy because it not the first few shows its like the 7th show. So I don't think it will be as crowded. clapping clapping

Here is my final schedule for a while. I am still deciding on the Keys to the Kingdom, tour we both think it sounds awesome, but its a pretty long tour, so not sure if I want to give up 5 hours to that or not. Still up in the air about Universal Studios. However the only day I have left open to do it is, Friday the 16th, which is also the first night of Halloween Horror Nights and a Friday. Does anyone know if this day would be super busy? Or less so do to it being Halloween Horror Nights? Other than that I am totally clueless on how Food and Wine works so if someone could give me some insight on that I would LOVE it.

Got out magic bands and our luggage tags the other day getting closer getting so excited! These are just back ups as I got the Haunted Mansion magic band for myself and I got Adam a Goofy one for Christmas. I think I might also purchase the Halloween Party one on the night we go but I am unsure about the design, if I like it or not.
