"Mickey Mouse job"

I'm sure we have all heard this phrase at some point. Usually used to describe poor/shoddy work.

"Looks like a real Mickey Mouse job". Sometimes shortened to "Mick job". I've even used it myself on occasion.

Where do you suppose this came from?

I know that Disneyland was a huge failure on its opening day. Maybe that's why.

I have heard this phrase before and it seems to me that I read it originally was used referring to the cheap made Mickey Mouse watches.

Yes it means anything made on the cheap or poor quality of the materials used.

Interesting... I never knew about the watch theory.

It's just one of those sayings that I've used and heard but never really thought about. Mind you, if you think about it, there's a lot of phrases we use that don't really make sense.

I went searching for the origin. This link contains several (including one about watches). I'm not sure accurate these are.
