Old key west- put my mind at ease

So I've given myself nightmares reading trip advisor, please let me know it's not that bad, and any tips you might have.....

I LOVED it. Loved loved loved. And we were on Miller's Road at the very very end of the resort. Like, literally, the last possible room. There was a lot of late night golf course dashing involved. Smile

It is quiet and there is so much to do there. And it's very close to MK, Epcot, and HS.

You'll like it. awesome

We were there last May and loved it. It was quiet and laid back. We never waited long for a bus and they were never crowded. Our studio room was huge and once we switched to a one bedroom it was spacious as well. The food was great at Olivia's and we loved the boat ride to downtown Disney. We are returning in two weeks time and can hardly wait. One other reason we stay at OKW is as DVC members it costs us less points to stay and we were able to stay an extra night this trip.

Yes! We have stayed at OKW and liked it very much.

It's a spread-out, quiet resort with lots of shade trees and a golf course running through the middle of the resort. It feels very private, and the units are large and very comfortable. There are enough bus stops so you shouldn't have to walk terribly far to get to one. Olivia's is, IMO, a hidden gem among Disney restaurants. So few people have eaten there, but the food is AWESOME. A minor downside, the counter-service option is literally a walk-up counter with extremely limited choices, so for quick eats plan on bringing groceries or having them delivered.

OKW isn't as flashy as some of the more popular DVC resorts (I'm thinking of the Epcot and Magic Kingdom resorts), but I would happily stay there again.

Well my own Irish friend Crush Dude stayed there for 23 days in 2012 and loved every moment..He did get a 40% discount so that was a great deal..However, I reckon any stay at a Disney property is a magical experience..Think of all your friends who would give their left arm for this vacation..

I'll toss in my vote for OKW.
We stayed there last September.
It is quiet with lush, mature landscaping.

Bus service was excellent.

Olivia's for breakfast was a highlight of our trip.

And we took the boat to DTD on several occasions. It is a relaxing, scenic ride.

We would definitely stay there again.

One other great thing I forgot to mention is we asked for directions to get to our favourite grocery store and the gentleman at the counter reached into a file and took out a pre-printed set of directions for us to keep. They were simple and got I easily to where we were going.

We visited OKW a couple years ago just to have breakfast. I really liked what I saw. Seemed like a nice, relaxing atmosphere.

We stayed there in October - 1 one bedroom villa.

When I want to "Find a happy place" - I now picture myself there.

I don't think you'll have anything to worry about.

Darn it - I wish I was there now!! waiting

As far as I can remember Phil you will not find any non Disney grocery stores in the area although the list does give you the "closest" one but it will undoubtedly require a rental car or taxi to get to.
