Guys why is this bothering you so much, unless they post does it really matter? Admin are on it and it gets dealt with so let it go, spam never bothered me anyway!

I don't always get online before the guys do, and by the time I got on today the forums were clear of spam. Are you saying that there were 21 new spam user accounts created or are you saying that there were 21 spam messages posted in the forum?

No worries Ken. I understand where you were coming from. We get threads like this now and then and then everyone that doesn't know any better gets their panties ruffled because they think " OH MY GOD, the spam is taking over! Eeeek! " . It's all being worked on in the background. All I say is "this too shall pass".

Besides, the spammer would lose their jobs if they didn't try to get on the site right?

Ken I agree completely with mrhub "NO WORRIES!!" as for me there is nothing like an out of work spammer so I really appreciate the chance to put a few out of work . I repeat again no worries Ken

I didn't even realize they were spam. I thought they were just very enthusiastic shoppers.

On a different note, this thread is letting them know that people and the moderators are watching their actions and if they continue to do so, they will pay the price for their actions. Hopefully they'll think twice now.

Actually Robyn no thats not a lot. There is much more than just what you see and it is always being dealt with. These things come in waves. Just ignore it like everyone has been. It will be taken care of. Thank you everyone for your attention to this, now let's get back to talking Disney!

That never work because they don't care. They usually do not intend to come back and reuse those spam accounts, so having them banned/deleted makes no difference to them. All they care about is, for a few minutes, their stupid links/products get into the internet ether. All they need is one gullible victim and they've made a profit with very little cost.

I've been a moderator of another forum, and even with a very strong spam filter/IP filter, we still get spam posts, although not as bad as here. We do a lot of preemptive deletion of suspected spam accounts. But it also got so bad that we have had to do broad IP ban of whole countries for a period of time (the ones originating out of Russia and India were especially notorious).

The problem here isn't just the spam being advertise on the forum. I believe, based on my understanding of my conversation with the other forum admin that I belong to, is that Google rankings can be affected if a site contains a certain amount of spam or other malicious/dubious content. So a forum that is relatively clean or have a higher "ranking" is "golden" to these spammers because their stuff can be found more easily. But the downside here is that if the forum admin/moderators do not take quick action, the presence of these garbage can drag down the site ranking/etc.

I'm sure Brad and the other Admins have been busy behind the scenes taking care of these things. I don't envy them, because having have to deal with these things myself, I can see how annoying they are. I just hope that they can delete those rather obvious empty/spam accounts as soon as they are registered without having to wait till they do something. Or maybe even take a temporary drastic action and impose a wider IP ban of certain domains for a few weeks just to discourage the current wave of attack.

I was thinking the same thing.

Sorry I did not find these earlier but they are gone now and they were hit hard by the ban bat.
When I logged on the poster had already been banned but the multiple posts had not been deleted so I took care of that.
Also you are correct. They do have nothing better to do than to think those posts will influence you to go out and buy, buy, buy.

Last time I checked I didn't have any use for Viagra LOL And Ambien, who has time for sleep, I have Disney planning to do!!!!!!
