Third Time's a Charm!

yay for me! waiting for my hubby laugh

I have 3 trips booked right now. I may Disney myself out biggrin

I am home today with a sick Blondie so those who can't work, plan Disney trips. RIGHT????

Trip 1 - Joe's birthday. Sept 17-20 AKL Only have 2 ADRs at this point as I am not sure of his golfing schedule yet. I have promised him Giordano's so the first night we are eating *GASP* off property. I am actually A-OK with this as I LOVE their pizza! Deep dish and loaded with cheese! I thought about calling for delivery and eating on the balcony. I am sticking with California Grill for his birthday dinner on Friday night. All they have available is 9:15. I am going to keep checking as we get closer. I can't eat that late. The only other ADR at this time is Boma Sunday before we head home.

Trip 2 - Girl's Trip! Sept 24-27 SSR - The doctor we work for is off that Thurs and Fri so why not go back a week later??? I told Joe I wanted at least one day at F & W so this will be it. It's gonna be a lot of driving but it's easier than trying to get a couple more days off. We have an ADR at Bongo's Thursday night. We are just going to roam around Disney Springs for the evening before and after dinner. Friday is Animal Kingdom day. Kerry and Nadia want to go back to do the safari again. I of course want to see FotLK again and catch Finding Nemo this time. Lunch will be at Yak and Yeti. We are going to Territory Lounge that evening for drinks and appetizers before turning in for our big FOOD AND WINE day Saturday!!! I can't wait for the menus to come out so I can make a plan. Sunday we will top off the trip with Breakfast at The Wave.

Trip 3 - Happy Thanksgiving! November 24-28 AKL - I have never taken off more holiday time than what we are scheduled to have off in the office, so this is new for me! Since I have heard the parks are crazy this week, we are only going to do one park day. I checked the crowd calendars and I made a good choice. Tuesday we are going to play putt putt at Fantasia Gardens and got to Disney Springs to hang out. I am thinking dinner at Raglan Road. Wednesday will be AK and HS - these are Blondie's picks because of Everest and ToT. I also want to take her to see the Osborne lights! Happy Thanksgiving. We will hang out around AKL this day and relax. I am sure I will get bored and we will find something to do, maybe stroll the Boardwalk. La Nouba this night and Food Trucks for our T-day dinner. Friday will be more putt putt at Winter Summerland and more relaxing with dinner at Whispering Canyon. Saturday morning will take us to Sassagoula Floatworks for beignets before heading home.

I have been debating an Annual Pass for sometime, and I think this is the time!

Don't forget to get your AP through DVC. There is a sizeable discount and even more when your AP is renewed!

NICE! And Disney-ed out? What does that even mean?! laugh In all seriousness though, it sounds like you won't be spending a ton of time at the parks on either of the second two trips so I'll bet you're fine! The plans sound awesome and can't wait to hear about them when you get back!

I've been looking there. We also just got the Disney Visa (we are working on our issues I promise lol) so I think I will purchase it with that and pay it off.

I can't believe it!!! Today was my 180 mark for the November trip and I completely forgot!!!! I even had it marked on my calendars! wheelchair

I missed out on Raglan Road (I'm going to keep checking) but in the meantime I booked Wolfgang Puck. Got Beaches and Cream for Thanksgiving! Why not! This is far from our traditional doings!!! Also scored Whispering Canyon. stars

Got and OK on the AP from the hubby today! It's all coming together!

Oh and he said he wants to do a park day on his birthday trip! yeah

Not sure if my hubby would agree with you laugh though he is coming around more and he was even telling a friend of his all about DVC today at lunch. I was warned I may have lots of questions from his friend's wife!

BIG CHANGE to the girls trip! I thought F&W started on the 26th. Not sure where I got that idea from, it's on the Disney site as the 25th!!!! So, the plans now are....

Thursday - same! drive down, Dinner at Bongos and then shop/drink around DTD/DS

Friday - AK opens at 8! Going to hit the safari, FotLK, Finding Nemo, Bugs Life and maybe a couple other things before heading to TTC. We will park at MK and monorail it to Epcot. We are going to start to the right this day and SLOWLY make our way to America Pavilion. (I gotta have a Gran Ma Slush the first day!) MK is open until midnight so we will head back over there once we are nice and full so we can roam around a bit.

Saturday - HS opens at 8! TSM, Beauty and the Beast, and One Man's Dream for sure. I will try to get the girls on RnRC and ToT but I am not counting on it. laugh The it's back to TTC for the same thing, Today we will start to the left and work towards America again. MK open until midnight again. This time we will see the fireworks in front of the castle no matter what!!!

A few things have changed, as of today. LOTS of ADRs are now available that were not when I hit 180 days.

November
I changed from 50's PT to Mama Melrose (which was Blondie's original request)
And changed Wolfgang Puck Cafe to Raglan (which was my original request)
Flame Tree is open so we will be eating there for lunch on AK day

As far as the Girls trip goes, my friend Kerry made me so happy the other day. She looked at me and said "I have Disney Fever!!!" Yes! I have converted one!!!!!!! stars

I think she may have me planning another trip before we leave.

Things are slowly but surely creeping up on me. I can't finalize the first September trip for a while because I have to wait on Joe to book his golf and he can't do that until 30 days out.....

Well, NOW it is official, we are 60 days out from the first trip... With the EXACT same date in MDE and on my phone countdown, the days are not matching up. My phone says 58 days and MDE says 60... Anywho, I checked in online and made fast passes this morning! yay

Work has been awful to say the least and Blondie has been gone most of the summer so I have been battling DD (Disney Depression) for a couple of weeks so I am thankful that I got to finalize somethings today!

This is where we stand right now...

Tues Sept 15 - Drive down to Jacksonville after work (This was Joe's idea eek ) and stay the night so we can get to Orlando earlier on Wednesday and relax a little. This is Joe's actual birthday! biggrin

Wed Sept 16 - Get up and find breakfast. I am thinking Metro Diner, depending on where we end up staying. Then drive the rest of the way. We are staying at Bay Hill this night. You have to stay to play and this course is on his bucket list. There is a spa so I guess I will go along with the plan... wink I want to hit the Character Warehouse for some pins to trade (and maybe keep) and since it is near one of my favorite off property restaurants, well, it just works out. We will be having dinner at Giordano's. I. Can. Not. Wait!!! yeah

Thurs Sept 17 - Joe has an early tee time for his round at Bay Hill. I am going to ride along with him. I like to drive the cart and I take pics of the courses and him playing. After the round, we head to AKL!!!!! We will be checking in for our first DVC stay! yay I did online check in this morning. I selected Sunset Savannah View (I hope this is a good choice) I also added to the DVC reservation that it is Joe's birthday. Does anyone know if they do something special in the room for this??? I also made a couple of fast pass selections for Animal Kingdom since we will be right there. FotLK, Everest and Finding Nemo. Then we will be heading over to the Grand Floridian for the Wishes Cruise with The Hubs! awesome Needless to say, I am pretty excited about this! Then time to crash!

Fri Sept 18 - Joe will be playing at a local and yet to be decided course. He has a "guy" working on getting him on at Isleworth (another bucket list course) so I hope it comes thru for him. I will be having time to myself this day. I am going to hang back at the resort while he goes to play. I am considering the Keys to the Kingdom Tour that morning. If not, then I plan on hitting Disney Springs for a little retail therapy or maybe park hop a little. I have nothing set in stone yet. I made a couple of fast passes for HS for when he gets back. Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and what ever other random one it generated. I wanted TSM but it's his birthday, his rules! laugh We also have an ADR at California Grill at 8:15. I don't like eating this late and I have been checking everyday for new times. But I will make do with whatever we get. I want to try to get to TotWL this night before dinner to check it out and have a cocktail.

Sat Sept 19 - This is going to be the really long day... He is wanting to play at Stream Song which is a little over an hours drive from the resort. We are hoping he gets an early tee time crossfingers You can't book until 30 days out. I am going to go with him this day. The pics I have seen of this course are AMAZING and there is no way I am not going to go and get some pics! I am going to find a little dive around the course for lunch before heading back to the bubble. I have Trader Sams Grog Grotto on my radar for this night. I am hoping there's not a long wait to get in. I also have FP booked for MK including 7DMT, Jungle Cruise (neither of us have ever rode it waiting ) and BTMR.

Sun Sep 20 - Check out day... sad We will be starting out with a breakfast ADR at Boma. Then head over to EPCOT (this is a maybe) for Soarin' fastpass. Not sure if we will do this or just head home. It depends on how we are feeling.

All fastpasses are kinda there just in case. It's all going to be played by ear this time since we don't have specifics on tee times yet and if he is put with someone who plays slow. Dinners and lunches will be counter services or seeing if we can get in on the fly because of this too. He also mentioned changing to off property for his birthday dinner so I am still holding out hope that he sticks with CG.

I just have to keep in mind that there is only 3 days until my next trip when we get home from this one! AND I really think I should just stay down there those couple of days! laugh

YES!!! I ordered his AP last night. All it took was for him to say "go ahead and do it anytime now" Well, I was on the couch with my laptop and did it right then LOL. Woke up on 60 days out this morning and made FP+!!! I don't waste time! And yes, we will see you on the 17th!

OK, just booked Yachtsman Steakhouse for Friday night Joe's birthday dinner. And it's EARLIER ok, only an hour earlier but earlier!

Here is my question...

Do I have to call to let them know it's his birthday or just let them know when we get there? I want it to be something special. Also, I know there are places you can order a cake but he LOVES cheesecake. Do any of you know if those places do them???

I would let them know in advance. You could ask the about the cheesecake, maybe they could do something special for you

I would deffinatly call in advance, but remember, unless your order something special, there is never a guarantee that the restaurant will do something on their own.

Yea. Only a couple places did something on my birthday trip. I don't want something over the top. Just his favorite dessert! Do I just call the reservations line?

Yes I would and have them add a note to your reservation.

Only THREE DAYS BETWEEN TRIPS?! Yeah, you should definitely just stay down there. I mean, it makes the most since financially and time wise. Disney math. mickey
